I have savings of $1,000,000 and I'm ready for retirement, only concerned about the soaring inflation. Is this enough to retire comfortably, or do I need some sort of money management?

I believe the average life expectancy in the US is around 77.5 years, but many individuals live into their 80s. Therefore, $1 million needs to cover all those years as well as any unexpected expenses. While $1 million is a solid beginning, I recommend seeking financial advice just to be safe.

I’m quite lucky exposed to personal finance at early age, started job 19, purchased first home 28. Going forward, got laid-off at 36 just after covid-outbreak, and at once hired an advisor with grit to help stay afloat. As of today, my portfolio has yielded over 300%, summing up $836k. Great video. We are grandparents too and hold all of the ETFs that your grandparents have plus a few more. Gradually getting rid of GICs as they mature and going to put some in SPLT in our Cash account and in PAYS in our RRIF. PAYS is a little different but I consider it very safe and yields a little more than SPLT. Not sure if anyone agrees with me about PAYS or not.

does not matter if they agree. the fact you are ditching those nonsense GICs and investing on your own means you already won.

I'm hopping to retire in 2 years at 46 thanks to your videos, when I anticipate I'll be at 5k a month. However I've been investing in my RRSP because my TFSA is maxed out. I plan to use the TFSA dividends to pay the bills (around $1000 a month) and leave the RRSP on drip. Would there be a need for a normal investment account instead of taking dividends out of the TFSA?

Can buy on Batlenet as most computers today don't have CD/DVD players. I play every year on Boxing Day as a tradition. Ditto if I need to relax I still play time to time. Trick is building multi locations so build up faster. I watched pros just absolutely amazing. Actually pro teams one of my customer spends hours a week practicing.

In Canada you can no longer contribute to. Rrsp as of 65 th year any you must extract from rrsp every year on 66th year and follow the diagram of percentages

Could you please name the equivalent funds in the US stock market? I have a smaller cash account. Would that be QQQY, JEPY, JEPI? I'm still working in the US but a dual citizen. But doubtful I will move back to Canada. And I decided to sell these until the end of October when the market should be less volatile. Anyway I will look at your portfolios again. Thanks!

Thanks Adrian for sharing your parent's Cash/TFSA portfolio! Must say it can't get more simpler than that. Definitely something I want for my own portfolio, when I retire of course. I can just take the money out and live off the dividend, and do not have to worry about a thing!

Hi Adrian, Great video, I think the members enjoy examples the most...On another note, the market has gone straight up the last 1.5-2 years. Normally the market goes down 40% of the time, in the last 2 yrs this has not happened.... Have you thought of any hedges to protect the CC ETF approach for the eventual bear market? Please don't take this the wrong way, it is smart to look at risk mitigation strategies...thanks, John

You aren’t using it for income though, since it’s on drip. Returns from a growth etf would have much higher returns.
