Try running a Squirrel brush all over your face while listening to chill or lofi music. It’s going to zone you out more. Hahaha

Thank you so much for the eye tutorial. The eyeshadow color looks so much more complex and beautiful sheered out with the S132 brush. It’s a great technique for a one and done look. I’ve never seen anyone explain what a flat brush can do.

Thank you for this video! It's great to know the Hakuhodo vermillion handles do last well over time. I just got the 5521b in this handle and I'm looking forward to keeping that brush for years to come

I went to their flagship store in Kyoto years ago , glad i bought the s102 before the price increase ,Hakuhodo brushes is my no.1 fave, the only thing is i had to coat the bottom of all my S brushes with clear nail polish for extra protection.

I love their Kyoto Flagship store! Especially the surrounding area where there were a lot of Fude shops/artisans as well! Don’t you just love their beautiful building and minimal approach in their store? ❤️❤️❤️ That brush is on my wishlist! I place a thick piece of fabric at the bottom of my brush holder when using these. But, i like your nail polish hack!

Thank you for the amazing review. Please let me know if the S110 is as soft as Sonia G's un-dyed Saikoho (for e.g. her Face Two). Please also let me know if you have compared Sonia Face Pro & Hakuhodo's J521? I am having trouble deciding which is better and also which is softer. Than you

Hello! Unfortunately I do not have any of the Face Brushes from Sonia G just yet - I mostly have her eyeshadow brushes and her fan brushes. The S110 is soft but quite a dense brush. Perfect for blush application . If there is anything I can say, based on observation, Sonia’s philosophy is to have a brush the helps you to speed up the process of your makeup routine but to keep the experience pleasant. Meaning, soft bristles that do the job effectively and fast. You couldn’t go wrong with any brush from these brands. The only thing that affects our buying process is the availability.

thanks for the wear and tear review, those are stunning fude brushes. Another brush brand that has gold plated ferrule is bisyodo, but I fancy the short handle version they are cute. What type of brush can you advise for thick, creamy type of foundation? Thanks!
@tortorre
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maya! I will check out Bisyodo. 🤗 If ever I do decide to use a brush for heavier creams, I use my Chikuhodo PF-4 brush. I like the size and shape of the brush head. which helps me to blend and thin out product. The Ferrule is in Gold and the handle is white. Also very chic. I revert to using a Beauty Blender when I want to layer on coverage. Are you looking for a brush for your cream foundation? What is your foundation? And what do you currently use it with?

@@tortorre thanks for replying, I am using laura mercier's ultra-longwear and tom ford's traceless. It is because they are matte that's why they are hard to spread? I am using oval 8 and 7 of the artis brush. I noticed I used less foundation with it because it spreads the formula swiftly and smoothly. But artis brushes are hard to clean and it took ages to dry them. I tried rae morris' jishaku 27 but after having it for 3 years its still shedding, the koyudo fupa 02 is better but I find it prickly. I have sensitive skin and only squirrel hair gives me relief but those cannot be used in creams, right? I'm already 50 years old, sorry for being finicky, do you have any suggestions? Is Chikuhodo PF-4 soft enough for sensitive skin? If so, I might get that from CDJapan :)

@@myamoreno3666 I find the Artis brush uncomfortable to use as they kinda “grip” my skin and pull on it as I spread product. The Chikuhodo PF-4 is quite dense and it takes a while to dry after washing (but this depends on the weather) - some are saying that it’s a teeny tiny bit prickly but that’s a personal thing. I prefer to use it over an Artis. Those foundations dry down very fast - try switching to a hydrating foundation as these will give you more time to spread it plus your skin will appreciate the added moisture. Have you tried any of the FO series brushes from Chikuhodo? I use the FO-2 for foundation application. They are as soft as squirrel but as strong as goat - this might suit you.

@@tortorre thanks for the advise! Yes, I have the FO-2 it's so soft I was scared to try it on liquid formula. But coming from you, I will use it on my Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet this is kinda runny. You are right, matte foundations do dry down so fast. Recently, I am using a small amount of Nuxe oil before applying those matte foundations. I will surely take your advise, as soon as my matte foundations run out, I will opt to a more hydrating foundation. Tor, maybe you can come up with a review on foundations or recommendations for different types of skin (dry, oily, combo, and old - like mine) hahaha. Thanks for the help!

@@myamoreno3666 Try the FO-2 .If they market that in such a way, it should be a multi use :) I have also oberved that the FO-2 doesn't absorb much product as well. which is a ++. The oil should be able to help you extend the playtime of your foundation. Just work in one area at a time. don't dot the foundation all over your face - because while you are working on one spot, the foundation in the other spots on your face would start to dry, and sometimes will get patchy by the time you get to it. I'll curate my foundations and make a video like that in the future. 😘

I use my Yachiyo brushes for those types of blushes because it can pick up the formula especially if it’s hard pressed into the pan.
