Loved this video. Proper down to earth, good old-fashioned common sense. Thank you 🙂

You review should be required viewing for anyone considering 75 Hard. You've smoked him out, I think, Mary. He sounds like a screaming narcissist to me - he's intent being to virtue signal how superior he is; and how inferior we all are, by setting us up to fail. This. "when I was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, through a desert section, doing 30 miles a day" +3:27 and your management of severe migraines. You've walked the walk. He talks the talk. To turn that old Harry Enfield sketch around - you're significantly better than him.

Wow - thanks so much for your comment (apologies for my late reply I am still playing catch up with being away for a month). I really appreciate your kind words - it feels a lifetime ago now when I did this but you are absolutely right - I didn't have anything to prove. I definitely think he is an acquired taste and I'm sure the fad worked for some, but not something I would ever do again.

Thank you for bringing common sense to this nutty fad. Definitely a long distance hike would increase self-esteem. I am still working on finishing the AT now that I am retired. I found that love backpacking! 🌄🏕 Happy Trails!

Trying this thing, as you describe it, would result in an injury for me, no doubt about it. Plus, I get enough regimentation from my work. The last thing I want is some artificial program that I am supposed to adhere to in my spare time. So, nope, not going to try this.

Yes, excellent advice of creating your own challenge, what was good for him is certainly not good for everyone wanting a challenge. Whoever said you’ve proven yourself with the ultimate challenge of the PCT was spot on. You did it with grace and humility persevering through enormous obstacles. So if one has to choose who is the better person you would win hands down. Thank you for your honesty and transparency and as the other commenter suggested everyone contemplating doing the 75 Hard should see this video. Much love and appreciation from Texas. 🙏🏻🥰

Really good point about creating your own challenge. Especially modifying the water intake and exercise. Why did you do this anyway? You're tough and confident already and you also have a healthy sense of balance. :-)

Every now and then I feel like a challenge and it seemed a good one to get me outdoors everyday and drinking more water and less coffee. I was also feeling a little undisciplined at the time. My cousin had been on it and was always saying how much energy she got whilst on it so I thought it sounded good at the time. There were elements I liked, but I should have just created my own version. Once I started it I had to finish as I have a stubborn streak to me sometimes 🤣

A very good review of a not so good program, Mary. Most people would benefit from healthy eating and daily exercise and a touch of discipline is always a good thing. Thanks, Tink!

This is a great review ! I am 69 and decided early on that I had to modify it to make it doable. One workout a day, half the water, a day off once a week and I managed to read 10 or more pages of my choice of non fiction. Made the 75 days and taking pictures not of me, but of inspiration. I feel great, my cousins joined me and we benefited from the exercises but did it our way ! I’m a plant based foodie so I just stuck to my normal diet.
