story time, pico told me 120hz did work on neo 3 link, despite no one using it for the past year, game devs only needed to add a command to switch the panel to 120hz mode- off I went spamming everyone I could with this info, first Lubos implemented this to quake 3 VR, now the mighty Guy Godin of Virtual Desktop has implemented it into Pico neo 3 Link- this is just one part of the new 1.27.1 virtual desktop update due soon for oculus/ meta quests, pico neo 3 link and pico 4 and now also HTC headsets
there are several big changes here, one being the bump past the locked 150mb bitrate for h264 with the new h264+ mode, a highly requested feature, a brand new HEVC 10 bit mode, making darker areas and clear skies much nicer solving the colour banding problem streaming has and of course, from my (admittedly) selfish request, 120hz mode for pico neo 3 link.
This update is honestly game changing- it can either be the best looking pcvr streaming for your picos or the best feeling on neo 3 link ( pico 4 does not support 120hz)
if you own virtual desktop on the meta quest or pico stores, you can use the beta apk and beta streamer from link below and see the improvements for yourself:
