I use to have Hewlett-Packard calculators. Engineers love the older models but you basically had to be an engineer to use one. Very user unfriendly. They were considered the best calculators in the world at one time(even better than TI or Casio). The HP's had huge instruction manuals. One pilot once joked that the avionics on his airplane was easier to understand than his HP calculator.

I have a few calculators. But I prefer them over software. I like how they look and the fact that they are just so much quicker and easier to use and are always readily available. I prefer Texas Instruments, as that is what I used in school and I am just very familiar with them. Software is great and all. But it's just not as fun to use and seems to be a slower way to get an answer. It's nice to have software if you are trying to calculate all the atoms in the observable universe, or doing quantum physics. But a short time ago we got by just fine with scientific calculators and slide rules before that. Sure software has opened new possibilities. But it's still not as fun in my opinion. Plus every software has it's own format. Scientific calculators pretty much have a similar interface across the board if you stick with one brand.

Every calculator collector's story begins with "This one got lost so I bought this as a replacement" and "I found this cool and more efficient so I bought it". I know this cause I have done the same things and boom I have 7 calculators lying around my house.

One time when I was little( in the early 1980's) and staying with my grandparents...my granddad owned a medium sized calculator with blue red and green buttons....I wanted it so badly ! So I figured he did not want it and asked him if I could have it..but he told me no because he uses it often...I wanted it so bad ! lol

I have 8 calculators. 3 scientific, one even a small graphing calculator. I am a language teacher and I've always hated maths. I don't even know how to use the calculators I have.

The TI 36X Pro is better than that Casio one, which is your favorite. I have one, and I think you should get familiar with it before selling it. It is the true best scientific calculator (even in early 2019).
