Great video! I always suggest new beekeepers find the queen and move her before doing a wash. It's too easy to knock her into the cup. Love my Instavap, too!

Thanks for the visit. . Right now is the time, at least in my area, to treat them.

I love my InstantVap, totally changed my treatment regimen. Just purchased the Silicon Insulation Roof, I hadn't seen that before.

It is a great tool. The silicone roof, win win. Keeps the top clean and holds heat in.

The Insta vap is way easier and produces far more vapor than my previous solution. Yes, it costs a lot, but the time savings alone make up for that when treating even a couple of hives. I now have 4 hive locations with 4,2,2,2 full hives each respectively. My first location also has 3 nucs, 1 cell builder, and 2 mini mating nucs (plus 4 waiting for queens). So currently 15 working queens. Additionally I am helping 3 other beekeepers with an additional 9 hives between them. Sadly the nucs won't make it through the winter here, and unless I can build out enough hardware for all it will be tough getting all these through winter. However next spring I will be set up great for splits and raising new queens if I play my cards right.

Nice shiny hive tool. Mine is not shiny as yours. I have Formic Pro on my hives right now. I figure August first is the right time to prepare for the fall.

I couldn’t tell from the video if you were wearing a respirator when you were doing the hives. I hope you were 😊

Hey Brain, good video as always. My question for you is the cedar shaving i keep seeing in your videos, is this your smoker fuel?
@CastleHives
Жыл бұрын
Yep, it is. I normally use pine shavings but had a bag of cedar.

@CastleHives I bet it smells good, I live in the south and have a stand of pines 25 yards behind my bees, so i use the free stuff.

@@CastleHives on the same topic how often do you replace filters? Was looking at at mine and they are beyond expiration date.
