I'm not surprised. I saw couples like this. The man is usually doing his stuff (work, garden etc.) and when he spends time in the household he does everything the way she wants because this is her realm. It's kind of split territorial thinking. And she is the same. This is why we don't see her in the garden, she doesn't even comment on his work. It's his business. She just drinks her wine with contempt.

My Mother was German heritage. When we were little she gave us little scissors. To cut the grass. Just pretend its a barber shop she said. We thought we were getting to play. Lol. She got her flower bed edges trimmed and us kids were busy and quiet. Not fighting. She sat on the porch and watched us and read her book. We had the busiest "barbershop" in town.😂

@@Kempster_K America has more language diversity than you might think. most all high-schools require 2 years of a foreign language to be learned and if I remember correctly, the way that the stats of language speakers is collected in the US is based off of what is spoken most frequently in the household, so they may not accurately reflect how many languages people know and use in their day to day life.

But the Italian father's version is the correct one for this name. Laura is an Italian name and should be pronounced correctly in an Italian style. My first daughter is Laura too and we pronounce that name the same way as Italians, though we are Poles. I didn't even know from the beginning, that it is an Italian name, we just pronounce that name in Polish this way.
