This is very similar to mine and I started making it 4 years ago and my non-keto extended family now insist I bring the keto version. One thing I did 2 years ago was to skip the crust, when refrigerated it's just solid enough, also chop the pecans finer so cutting it doesn't destroy the slice. Being from the south, I say it both ways equally. Pecan was my favorite pre keto and this version is just as good with out the guilt.

The crust looks a little dark. I wonder if you used the crust protector when cooking just the crust or …if you cooked it to just a light blond color would the final product be better? I love a crust which looks exactly like yours before you baked it the second time. A golden color gives that butter flavor without being bitter. I’m going to try this with stevia, which I prefer, and see how it comes out. New subscriber here!

Pecan pie is most definitely my all time favorite and since being diagnosed with Type2 diabetes 4 years ago I rarely have any kind of dessert ( sugar free of course) . This looks every bit as good as regular pecan pie so tonight....I'm making one of these bad boys. It's literally been years since I have had it. I like your easy to follow style. I'm out of brown sweetener, what can I used instead, can I just double up the magic sweetener regular???

Do you have molasses? It will be the same amount of sweetener, but the brown adds molasses and a little bit of glycerin, what you don't have to have. I would say mix a teaspoon or two of molasses up to a tablespoon with the sweetener

I don’t like to use Splenda - do you think allulose would work ? (If you’re familiar with it). I’m new to this type of baking.

Yes, allulose would work fine. This isn't splenda's normal sweetener. This is their Magic Baker's blend. It is only erythritol, allulose, and stevia. To me, it's a better mix than just allulose alone. The regular Splenda is basically maltodextrin with a little bit of steviath thrown in. It's horrible, but I believe they are listening to us and the magic bakers is amazing! Definitely use just allulose if you want though 😀

I like Splenda & their new Magic blends with the diverse mix. It’s better than processed white sugar for ya & a lot of the other sugar substitute’s that are supposed to be better than Sugar or Splenda have an after taste that is just horrible. Hey, nothing will ever be healthy enough.. 80/20 rule. You could always get hit by a bus! At my age (almost 55) I’m just happy to be healthy & alive. Lol Love the content on this channel of realistic, home made, Keto & Low Carb Recipes! Keep up the great work & stay true to your roots. A lot of channels get burn out or stupid with sponsor heavy marketing…one long commercial = unsubscribe for me. You’ll never be all things to all people, so keep it real. Keep the faith! 😊

I would recommend you download Carb Manager or a similar app and put any recipe you want to try in there using the specific brand ingredients that you use. I have found some of the keto recipes that I've tried to be triple the amount of carbs listed. That's why I hesitate to put in carb counts. I don't want to give out wrong information like some do..
