During this past snow storm here in Ohio my Kubota BX23s was put to use moving snow that the plows just could not get to. While moving snow, the Kubota started to misfire and smoke and eventually stalled.
After searching to see if this is a common issue for the Kubota BX23s tractors, I ran a crossed the what most likely was the cause for the misfire and loss of power. WATER! The Kubota BX23s model does not have a water separator and in my case, the water was causing the misfire and loss of power.
The fix is relatively simple and simply involves adding good fuel and an additive to the fuel. Let it run at idle if it is not missing until the fuel mixes. If the machine does not start, you may have too much water and need to bleed the fuel lines and change the fuel filters.
