As a Brazilian Portuguese native speaker I hope you the best on your journey learning this language, I really appreciate it :) This year I finally started learning Mandarin Chinese and Thai, I'm really motivated and I hope it can turn well.

Oi, Maikol! :) Muito obrigada, amo amo amo o português brasileiro! Espero que um dia eu possa falar bem com un bom nível (assim como visitar o Brasil!!) Congrats on starting two new languages! 🥳👏🏼 Are you studying them by yourself? And how is Thai? I'm thinking about starting a new Eastern language once I'm satisfied with my Chinese skills.

O Brasil é um país muito bonito, fico feliz que você aprecie a nossa cultura! 😆 And yes, I'm studying all by myself. It's not easy tho but motivation keeps me on track. I was already studying Mandarin Chinese that is a tonal language and I thought why not learn another tonal language? 😝Thai is such a beautiful language but the script is really hard to learn, but I like those languages with unique writing system so for me it's kinda fun because the feeling of "omg I can't believe I'm reading this alphabet!". Hope this year we can achieve our language goals, sending great luck from Brazil! 🥳

Luca Lampariello is an Italian who has a good American accent. To me, getting an accent down is one of the harder things about learning another language. Even native speakers have a hard time acquiring the accent of another country or region. As an American, I would have a hard time picking up a British accent. Capoeira is hard. I'd say that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not easy either, but you're not going to be expected to do all the acrobatics in Capoeira either. Plus, it's more geared to self-defense and much easier to find BJJ dojos. It's up to you. Either martial art will get you into tremendous shape. My current language goals are Norwegian, Italian (I already speak Spanish, Portuguese and French), Latin, Hindi, Sanskrit and modern standard Arabic. I use Assimil, Duolingo and Netflix. :)

Hey, thanks for your comment! You're 100% right, it's so difficult to work on the accent! I greatly respect and admire people who manage to change their (such as Luca Lampariello). I'll really need to work hard to achieve this goal of mine. I've already had two Capoeira lessons and I'm loving it! Gosh, that's just amazing. I love the music, the rhythm, the vibes...everything! Wow, you have picked some pretty complicated languages, congratulations! How is Assimil? Would you recommend it?
@bhutchin1996
2 жыл бұрын
@@Margherita_Dolcevita_Languages Assimil's good but you have to get the MP3 recordings because the audio's all in the target language and they even have separate audio files for each dialogue part. Most of Assimil's courses are going to be in French, but there are some in English and Italian too.

@@Margherita_Dolcevita_Languages Br Portuguese because my gf is Brazilian. It's my strongest language out of those 4 since it's similar to Spanish (my native language) and my gf helps me. I can understand almost everything and speak it more or less fluently. With French, I'm getting to a conversational level although I make mistakes and sometimes don't know some words when speaking. With German and Irish I'm just a beginner so I still want to learn more before trying to start speaking them

Good luck on your goals! Some feedback on your English. Some interesting ones this time :D 0:48 and later at the end of 2021, I've decided to add Latin -> and at the end of 2021, I decided to add Latin. When you said "later", my brain automatically went to the future, but 2021 is in the past, so it was a little bit confusing at first. "I decided" sounds more natural in this case. To me, "I've decided" has some implication that you made the decision very recently (like just now) e.g. "Let me think.... Ok, I've decided" (made the decision just now and implies some consequence in the present or future). But since you specified the time frame was last year, it feels a little odd to use "I've decided" in this case. There's probably some more formal grammar rules that I don't know. Maybe you can look it up in your grammar book and tell me :D Other examples where "I've decided" sounds natural: "Today I've decided to take a walk in the park" (but I haven't taken it yet) "An issue has come to my attention and I've decided to address it" (but I haven't addressed it yet and/or I am about to address it) "I've recently decided to take capoeira" (and I haven't signed up for a class yet) And here are some that sound a little odd: "Yesterday, I've decided to eat less" "I've decided to address this issue a few minutes ago" 1:15 I took 7.5 points -> I scored 7.5 points 2:30 I would love to gain and reach this confidence: Here "gain this confidence" makes sense and "reach this level of confidence" individually would make sense. Together kind of breaks these established chunks, but very very minor and I'm being nitpicky with this one :) 2:35 having taking (this KZitem channel only in English) -> having taken: this would be the grammar correction, but IMO a more natural choice of words would just be "having this KZitem channel only in English" or "doing this KZitem channel only in English" 3:37 it's the very same -> it's all the same 5:32 shadow as much video as possible -> shadow as many videos as possible 6:37 has both grammar and vocabs in it -> has both grammar and vocab in it: vocab is always singular 7:15 not an error, but more of a fun fact: "enrol" is used everywhere outside of the USA, but in the USA, we spell it "enroll" 7:52 speaks Latin no more -> speaks Latin anymore 9:30 my PC: PC usually refers to a Windows computer (or really computer that's not Apple branded). Since you have a Mac, I'd say "my Mac/computer/laptop".

Wow, with this comment I learned so much! ahah thank you! The word "nitpicky" is new, I've never heard it before, and didn't know about the difference between PC-computer-laptop. Thank you very much! What you're doing is truly helpful 😍🙏🏼

@@Margherita_Dolcevita_Languages Happy to help! To expand on computer/laptop/mac/pc, computer is the most general term so it actually encompasses laptop, mac, and pc. Laptops are portable and can either be macs or pcs. Computer vs laptop is more determined by physical characteristics and function while mac vs pc is determined by the software (specifically the operating system) 🤓

As a US citizen living in the south of Brasil, best for you to come visit once you get started. Being imersed in this environment will help you pick up the language much quicker Is like at first watching a video with a bad wifi, you get the first few words and it stops. Eventually your ears will understand more and more without a break, then you will magically understand full sentences. RIO and Florianopolis are 2 place with a lot of english and actually Italian is spoken on the street in the south as is german ! A brasilian friend spoke Italian to me and I was shocked how much I understood ! I think there is such a thing as a ' languarge ' gene, some have it and other just don't. Obviously YOU DO ! By the way, this place is spelled with an S, not a Z. BRASIL Beijos from Brasil ! Don't be a stranger !

I am taking 2 advanced spanish classes; one learning to communicate better and one history of spain class that is just taught in spanish, so that will be my main language that i want to go from intermediate to advanced. Then I want to get back into italian and go from basic/beginner to conversational/low intermediate. And lastly I want to get a general feel for hungarian and become a strong...beginner LOL. Also might dabble in turkish by the end of the year just for fun... not with any expectation but it may be my next language after hungarian gets to a good level because they share words and other features
