I cried hearing that. That’s how I’ve felt since i was a little girl. so much love in my body but it was so hard to feel safe. I grew up with a narcissist dad and I always had to predict his moods and wonder if he was going to start another argument. Ended up dating narcissists that hit me and took advantage of me. Now I don’t know who to trust and have closed my heart off. But I’m glad I have a mom that has always been there for me and has shown me what true unconditional love is

I needed this. I needed to see someone who is kind and caring and loving after dealing with a cult. There was another cult in Connecticut between 1990 and 2012 that I had to deal with. No relation to Manson, but multi-national with cash and power.I have helped survivors, women whose lives were literally destroyed (if they were lucky to make it out). I helped the Huffington Post do a story on it and get the word out, though the pandemic, and the sale of Huff Po, caused the story to be much shorter than the reporter wanted. So, thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. Thank you for putting this up, the voice of a survivor who has a soul that is STILL kind and caring and able to speak without fear. It is true, you can overcome anything, but you may limp and have to deal with what has happened.

@southphillylilly The principles of cults are all pretty much exactly the same throughout time, and the experiences leave people equally devastated. People can learn from the older stories the same as the newer ones because they hold all of the same key elements and most of the same warning signs to watch out for to avoid and they can give insight as to how you can try to help someone you think might be trapped in a cult or possibly being groomed to join a cult also. Not to mention help you yourself evaluate if you think you are ever approached by someone or a group that could be a cult trying to recruit you.

Some things aren't adding up. The guy who fought with Manson and moved to Connecticut was Paul Watkins. But Watkins never ran a cult; in fact, he distanced himself from it and would later testify against Manson and the family during their trials. He wrote a book about it. No one else left the Manson Family for Connecticut. I'm not saying she's lying, but as someone who has a life long interest in the Manson Family, the story isn't matching facts.

Sounded like her older sister ran away at 15/16 yo and joined the cult, then when the guy and her sister split off from the Manson group and were settling in CT, her sister brought her into the cult. This was in the late 1960s, and the parents were so abusive they would fight with weapons on a daily basis. It’s believable that those parents would wash their hands of her, chalk it up to “she’s with her sister, she’s fine,” and see it as one less kid to “take care of.” It was also a different time. If the kids and the parents weren’t running to the police, nothing would have been done about it.

Anyone know the name of the man she is referring to? Her story is fascinating, but very sad.

@arsondarksea You know you're just mucking up channels with this spammy garbage right? Just like any 🤖. Just because you throw religion into it doesn't make it right, you aren't relating anything to the subject matter of the video.

About a third of us truly desperately want to find love - not just romantic love, but true respectful, affectionate love. Sadly, most of the rest use this need to bait the forlorn into scams, one of the worst being a cult. And they have no remorse for doing so. So it goes on and on. It's almost what keeps the world in orbit. There is something seriously wrong with life on this earth, that you have to be so cautious for needing to give and to find love.

People think this stuff is fake until someone sits down and describes it. Hard to imagine what goes on behind the closed doors of society

Can’t listen to this- cults are so destructive- wake up you sheep and don’t join them! You’ll save yourself and your children- ( if you have any) so much future grief.😢

You NEVER did anything wrong. You can still take college classes. While your grand daughter is in school you can help out at schools, as so many need mentors.
