For the Japanese Super Mario 3 artwork it kind of honestly looks like Bowser is wearing an armor and that "eyeball" is probably some sort of jewel.. The cape would make sense if it was attached to armor. If you look towards where his shoulders are, they look like pads.. and then some sort of spiked neck lining, probably attached to the cape.. Idk lol.. Honestly it looks pretty sick though regardless.

The different products have VERY different use cases. We don’t hear as much about Replicades and Quarter Arcades because most of the content creators are focused on building a “Home Arcade” and most people see that as a different thing from a “miniature arcade” or diorama or “desk ‘stuf’”… That job, of creating an actual life size arcade in your home, is where Arcade1Up is King. They are the ONLY company creating 3:4 scale arcade machines that actually look like the original, so if you want multiple machines in your home, it really is all about A1U unless and until you are ready to deal with a commercial machine. For me, it was only AFTER getting set up initially with enough A1U machines to give my game room the right vibe that the Replicades became my new favorite. I’m not sure I’d recommend that as a starting place for most people since the list of games actually available for sale at any moment is fairly limited. Right now you can get 1942 that has the HDMI port and extra controller on sale…And the only other game currently in stock is Missile Command-which is brilliant, but doesn’t have HDMI out and instead has the CRT Fx filter which means it’s not for everyone. Let me encourage you, however, to check out the Quarter Arcades from Numskull. although they are a bit pricey and don’t have quite all the same extra features as a Replicade, Numskull has done an excellent job of maintaining the same attention to detail we’ve come to expect from NWT to create Quarterscale machines that directly match the originals. I picked up Dig Dug from Amazon and found that American Girl (yes the doll company) has Pac Man available at retail price along with the Polybius charging machine and there is something very special about being able to hold such an authentic replica of classic cabinets in your hand. The gameplay on these older titles is such that they are perfectly playable at scale and, unlike what you might find from other companies, it uses the original arcade ROM for a truly authentic experience. Give me a try, I think that like me, NWT will still be your favorite, but particularly for titles like Pac Man, Numskull Quarter Arcades can be the BEST way to recapture nostalgia and place it on a shelf. 🎉
