Thanks for this video ! I’m came off vortioxetine due to constant nausea but besides from that it was a life changer for me. Gave me the ability to focus and brought me out of the pit of depression due to grief. I decided to go back on it a few weeks ago and this time around I don’t seem to have the nausea . Thanks so much for your video! It’s so so important for people to see that these medications effect everyone so differently . Sending love ❤️

One advice for everyone: When you got a new medicine dont read the possible side-effects of them. Most of the side-effects there read are not even real side-effets, they just have to be there since some people have reported them to be caused by this medicide. There can be plenty of other reasons than medicine for them. Anyway, even if they would be real possible side-effects as soon as you read the side-effects of certain medicine you get another factor called plasebo which can itself cause the side-effects, and then if they offur they are not really from the medicine but since your plasebo effect being scared of getting them....... only read the side-effets if you get some side-effets, something new in your system and you start to find reason for it.

Thank you for this video!!! I tapered off of venlaflaxine about 3 months ago still getting random brain zaps here and there. They are so awful... I am now on trintellix 😳... It's been a rollercoaster that's for sure 😭. I very much empathize with you girl ❤. I was on Effexor about 10 years. I tapered off it with a Prozac bridge. Prozac made me a zombie. Switched from Prozac to trintellix in 6 days. My brain has just been through to much. If the trintellix isn't effective im going off everything to see what happens 🤷🏼♀️

This is textbook Western modern psychiatry. A person has anxiety so they prescribe them an SSRI. Doesn't work increases anxiety. Ok second line of happy pills - prescribe them SNRI. They can't sleep, feel depressed... oh they must need a stronger dose. Still can't sleep. Better throw in addictive sedative. The person then starts to feel depressed. As if nothing is working. They ask to come off the pills. The doctor/psychiatrist recommends something for the depression. Now dependent on a sedative for rest. What you've been through my partner is going through right now. She had serotonin syndrome for 6 weeks from Venlafaxine. Her parents and GP were strongly in favour of sticking it out, upping the dose. She had moved out of our flat to try and ride this out. Is currently dependent on Valium. And is using mirtazapine also for sleep. Her new psychiatrist has asked her to up the dose of mirt, but isn't hopeful. And has suggested Quetiapine later on. When I asked if the anxiety and depression she is feeling could be from the cocktail of drugs she has been on since May could be causing this he referred to the half life's of the drugs. "It's just the anxiety". Bollucks. A quick google search on scholar said otherwise from a journal dated in 2018. Sadly my girlfriend can't see that and thinks she's broken. Anyway thankyou so much for being so open about this. You have your head screwed on and people need to hear this sort of stuff.

Your comment that "everyone is different and your experience may be different than mine" is definitely correct. My experience with Venlafaxine has been the complete opposite of yours. I was prescribed Venlafaxine (for long-standing depression), along with Wellbuterin (bupropion) (for anxiety). I also take Trazadone to help me sleep. I credit this medication combination with saving my life. As you have experienced, your first drug, an SSRI, worked for you except for a lack of sex drive. Your second medication did not work for you in any shape or form (your doctor should have been closely monitoring you for changes in behavior while you were taking it). It sounds like Venlafaxine, your third RX, is also has side effects that are distasteful to you. If you can discontinue ALL psychotropic meds without negative consequences, that is for the very best. But, IF you find yourself having frequent blowups, anxiety and relationship problems again while NOT taking mental health affecting meds, please don't completely rule them out as an avenue of help. It may be that you just haven't found the one that works for you...yet.

Thank you for sharing this!! I found you because I was prescribed venlafaxine for PTSD depression and I'm curious to hear other people's experiences on it. Trintellix was horrible for me. I felt like it was killing my kidneys, the physical pain it caused me to experience in the middle of my back was debilitating and intense I would also sleep for 16 to 20 hours a day. The symptoms were so subtle in the first few weeks that I initially just thought I had a UTI or a kidney infection but those tests came back negative. After a month and a trip to the ER revealing nothing health-related I put two and two together and realized it was the trintellix and stopped taking it. After a few more weeks my flank pain disappeared and my sleep returned to normal 7 to 8 hours a night. Some of these psychotropic medicines are scary AF and it's also alarming how some doctor's answer to patients' concerns is to just keep increasing the dosages. Anyway, thank you again for your honesty and for sharing your experiences with us 🥹🫶

@piama18 I was prescribed 10mg once a day, the advised starting dosage. As a cancer survivor with kidney damage from chemotherapy, I am particularly sensitive to many substances, including antidepressants and other psychotropic medications. My health reactions are somewhat unique due to my vast medical history, making me somewhat of a medical anomaly. Thank you for sharing your experience. I do think some doctors are too cavalier when prescribing psych meds (I have personal experience with this). I was on Venlafaxine for 17 years prior to getting off. The withdrawals were rough. After about 10 weeks, I started to have unregulated anxiety, depression, strong suicide ideation, and intrusive thoughts that lead to 6-7 trips to the emergency room, and 3 hospitalizations. After trying other psych meds, I went back on the Venlafaxine because it worked for me and I was used to the side effects. Everyone’s experience is unique and different, with varying physiologies and, like you, I did have crazy symptoms/side effects with other psych meds and will never again get on certain ones.

I have taken the same meds. I can highly relate to your bad experiences. SSRIs type antidepressants arent right for you, you are sensitive to them. Get off that garbage. For anxiety/neuroses/overwhelm you need some light medication like Vistaril and Guanfacine. These will not harm your cognition. In fact Guanfacine literally strengthens prefrontal connections, and reduces distraction. For me it -smashes- my anxiety. Vistaril is basically a safe antihistamine and has a few other minor mechanisms to safely reduce anxiety. Both are non-controlled, easy to get (if doc wont prescribe, see someone else haha) and are not heavily psychotropic nor addictive. Id be happy to answer any questions. You are brave to share your experience. I wish you luck with your journey. Especially with the effexor brain zaps. Peace ✌

Thank you for sharing your story! I've struggled with mental health for as long as I can remember but it didn't really hit me until I was 17 and my grams passed away. That's when my depression really took over and my anxiety was so bad (and still is) that I have to talk myself into leaving my house if it's not to go to work. I mainly take Zoloft, or I was on Zoloft. It'll be a year ago in March that I stopped taking it. Not really by choice, I had covid really bad for 2 months so I stopped taking it and had plans to start over with it when I was better but it just never happened. So my anxiety is still at a high and my depression is good some days and bad others like usual. It's been 11 years of me struggling with this, it truly is an uphill battle everyday. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel eventually. Fellow Canadian, living much more south of Toronto (past London). Sharing your story and your experiences will help so many people, myself included. Your coping mechanisms video was really helpful to me, things I never even thought of! The fact is that depression is a theory there’s no proven scientific facts about chemical imbalance, none! Drugs can affect your performance or your health, this is a fact.
