For anyone who might be interested. My garden is about the same size as Nate's. I use a battery operated 1 gallon pump sprayer. $40 at Home Depot/Lowes. Love it. I also winter sow instead of using grow lights and then having to acclimate the plants to the outside. So I use the same pump bottle to water the plants in the bottles. Again, it works great. Even better if you get a backup battery. They're rechargeable.

Your videos are mine-full of great information. Would you be able to make videos about blueberry gardening as well as container gardening? My garden is in the city, not very big, full of tree roots and with limited sunlight. That's why I had to opt for container gardening, which will never give me high yields as real gardening in the soil. I can't tell you how much satisfaction it gives me getting even a fraction of crops from my containers compared to a real garden. It's pure joy. Thank you for making these videos and sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge.

I'm a KISS adept. Chucked all nasty weeds with seeds in a tub for 5 weeks. The smell, well... Diluted it 4 times and tested it on a row of Comfrey: no negative effects. 2nd batch administered to the fava/broad beans: they grew 50 percent higher than the 5 previous years and had a yield rise of 50 percent. 3rd batch was applied to all raised beds. No negative impact. Whenever possible I don't water overhead on my no dig raised beds, and use 3 inch plastic pots for subsoil watering in order suppress weeds and unneeded evaporation.It's weird, but this year I'm trying to go without external compost or garden disposals of other family members.

That will work. Been doing that for two years now(mulching etc and the soil is retaining water better (mostly sand here). Tip: Research off grid hydroponics especially the Kratky method. That will save a lot of water. Also, right now I have somewhat of recycled water... Cycle 😅 with airconditioning providing water when cooling but if you can get your hand on an air de-humidifyer, you could have a steady supply of water because air is mostly full of water.

Question: How important is it to have a sealed lid on the JDAM while fermenting? and can you use it earlier than 3 months.
@susanshelit
Жыл бұрын
Keeping the lid on will cause an anaerobic fermentation which will produce different kind of bacteria (more lactic I think). Think of the difference as this: When you ferment apples without lid, you will produce vinegar, with lid it becomes alcohol. Is one better than the other? I prefer alcohol but vinegar also has uses.

@@gardenlikeaviking - it's short! Anchorage is June 1-Sept 12 100 days or so. We just switched from full hot sun to full rain which happens this time every year. So that makes our spring planting even more important. I've been trying some things to get a head start. I planted some kabocha on a 2 year old deep pile of wood chips on south west facing embankment. It went nuts! 20" compost thermo read 110F on the sunny side and 90F under the plant. World record holder John Evans used to live just north of here in Palmer. He was big on raising the soil temperature with massive organic inputs. I am big into hot composting which people think can't be done up north. There are tricks and this summer I got it up to 178F which I know is too hot for some bennies but makes it so I can get at least 2 batches done in a summer. I could talk for hours. Its been sitting for two weeks at this point... I'm curious in terms of how its supposed to smell. I can't find an answer about this topic of scent because smell is a great indicator of whether a fermentation is going well or not. How do your different fertilizers smell? How do I know it's off, or done well? I kept it uncovered for the first day, then covered ever sense then.

you can do it that way if limited on space but making them separately gives you much more control over how you feed the plants and what effect it has on the growth cycle... but since your'e just beginning and to keep it mega simple go ahead and do it that way.... and the best thing would be to plant a cover crop on the poor soil and feed it this stuff many times then next year it will be great soil... crimson clover, winter rye, white clover, it depends what zone you're in

😅 @04:44 you know we’d like to get that calcium recipe Nate ✊🏾 I can’t wait to see what my results will be by next season’s harvest. Question: Are you using these products on fruit trees & bushes?

Thanks for the easy to follow methods. I had been very confused watching too many channels will stick to your channel from now on. What time of day is it best to water

very early morning is best so it can be absorbed before the sun hits it... but if you're in the desert then watering at night is the best... let me know if you have any video idea suggestions!

" HELLO MY VIKING BROTHER " I "met" you on one of your KZitem Q&A's you about 3-4 weeks back, maybe a month or so. You called me out personally and answered my question about JADAM. Thank you for that.🤝🙏 I'm really liking this concoction that you just made in this video with the different types of Jadam's, hydro- acetate etc.. I'm currently making all of those teas and more. I plan on using your recipe and ratios from this video. As I have done since begin following you at the beginning of this grow season. (FYI, the crop is looking amazing and I spent zero money on fertilizers and pesticides all thanks to you😊). My question is, do I need to worry about anything using this on my medicinal cannabis grow? Any kind of nitrogen Burns etc...? Or should I be good to go as far as using this on my cannabis crop? One last questio: Can I apply this during any part of the flowering stage? Thank you in advance and I'm Sending this out to the universe with positive energy and good Vibes in hopes that you will see this message my friend, and help out a fellow Viking brother. We must stick together...lol t Thank you kindly for taking the time to share your knowledge with the world so we can get away from the big corporate conglomerates that are poisoning us. I'm very particular in who I follow for information on KZitem. And you my friend are definitely one of the best if not the best when it comes to how you put your videos together, the length of your videos, the amount of knowledge you're able to put in a 10 minute video, and most importantly the information, methodology, even the history you're giving is scientifically backed up and not just a bunch of BS. Well done, sir! I've been a huge fan of yours for about 4 months now and all my different gardening and grow Buddies I talk to i definitely tell them about you your page and the knowledge that you drop. I'm sending everybody I know your way for this golden information. Sorry for the ramble. I have a deep passion for the knowledge you are bestowing. - Chris Morrison, Beaverdam Virginia. - Clan Morrison of Northern Scotland
