Awesome job for an amazing blessing to folks in homes some without hope and you give them joy for a moment. I have seen them keep cards and look at them for days with love in their hearts. You are such a blessing and a lovely job too. Thank you for doing this. And doing it beautifully.

I am watching all your videos aimed at making cards for males, both men and boys. I send cards to Cards for Little Hearts. They just put out a call for birthday and graduation cards for adult patients, AND more masculine cards for children and adults. They now allow Wink-of-Stella-type glitter. I am so happy; I feel like I am having my own private Christmas.

Roxanne Tucker Thank you! I really hope the cards put a smile on their faces. One of the places I donate cards is a rehab center for seniors. There are also hospice patients that reside at the facility. I’ve been told the residents really appreciate receiving my cards. There are so many places that have a “need” for handmade cards. I know many crafters mail them to large organizations, which is wonderful. But I prefer to find local places. 🙂

Hey Kristie I love watching your videos! Especially this one because I am doing 30 Father’s Day cards for a retirement center by my house. Thought you might be interested to know also that Brutus Monroe has black foam tape on a roll and last I checked it’s a lot cheaper than the Scotch brand. You probably recognize the Brutus Monroe name as being owned by Christopher Alan. I haven’t purchased any but I’m considering it because I’m using up a lot of my square foam dimensionals. Have a good week end!

Kristie! This is great. I so do enjoy your 6x6 pads card bundles. You do such a wonderful job at this. I love that you give the cards to a retirement community. I think that it is a true kindness that you share this not only with the retirement community but also with us. You have inspired me to do something similar to my local senior community center. I do agree that it is difficult to find a pad of paper that is truly masculine all the way through. So, it looked like you went through around 1.5-2 rolls of ATG tape? I did want to ask how much preparation before you start filming do you do to get this rolling? Thanks again for a great series of cards.
@KristieMarcotte
6 жыл бұрын
Kat F Thank you for your kind words and continued support. It makes me so happy knowing I could provide inspiration for you to share your own creations with a senior center. I’m sure you have blessed so many lives with your generosity. 😊 I average 2 - 3 rolls of ATG refills for a set of cards. I actually had a defective roll while recording this video and ended up tossing it since it kept breaking. I’ve never had that happen before. As far as my pre-video prep, I don’t really do much. I select a 6x6, choose coordinating cardstock, find a few card sketches to get started, score and fold my card bases. Sometimes I’ll choose stamps to use, like Father’s Day stamps for this video. But that’s about it. I just figure things out as I go. 🙂

Love watching your 6x6 tutorials. I know you’ve probably answered these questions a million times, but what is your process for picking out a paper pad and choosing the solid cardstock. Also how do know which card designs to select. It seems each pad you use, you end up with such a small amount of scraps leftover. TIA.
@KristieMarcotte
6 жыл бұрын
Catherine McAteer Thank you! I buy paper pads that appeal to me, or that I know will work well for the type of cards I need. I chose this paper pad specifically to make Father’s Day cards. Then I look for cardstock that coordinates well with the colors in the paper pad. I make sure I have at least 15 - 20 of the color I plan on using for the matted layers. Of course, this sometimes changes while I’m making cards. I may add in another color along the way. As far as what sketches I use, I usually have a few that I know I want to use. Then I start choosing sketches based on what size paper scraps are left. I keep choosing sketches until most of the paper is gone. 😊

Grace Baker Thank you! 😊 I always start with a few sketches that I know I want to use. Maybe they’re new to me or I just think they’ll work well with the paper designs. I continue selecting sketches that will best utilize the paper scraps until the paper pad is basically finished. 🙂

I love these cards!! I'm usually at a loss as to do unique masculine cards for friends and close family members. I love the burnt orange color. Makes those cards POP just a bit more. I love your card series. I have one question for you. When you cut from the sketch, are the measurements listed and cut from the card stock matting, or do you cut the paper ( printed) the measurement size?
@KristieMarcotte
6 жыл бұрын
Gail Weber Thank you! The listed measurements are for the pattern paper. I add 1/8” to that measurement for the matted layers. I list the measurements that way because I know not everyone likes to include the cardstock layers. My background, either pattern paper or cardstock, is usually 1/8” smaller than the outside matted layer. Sometimes 1/4” smaller if I want to have the white border from my card base. I hope that makes sense. 🙂

Do you have to put a cardboard under each designers paper?

Becca L You don’t have to add cardstock layers. I’m a big fan of adding layers to my cards though. I think it adds lovely contrast and a very finished look to my cards. 🙂

Jeri Mobley Hello, thanks for watching my video. I really don’t spend much time planning. I’ve been using 6x6 paper pads for so long, it’s kinda routine for me. I choose coordinating cardstock, some stamps sets, and a couple card sketches. Then I get started and figure it out as I go. 😊

I was thinking, it would save time if you didn't trim card base. Some you do, & others you don't.

Please do voice overs instead of music. Would like to your process.

melissa1224jax Hello. Thank you for watching. Doing voiceover is not my gift. I’ve only recently started doing it for the monthly kit videos and it takes me a long time. But I’ll keep practicing and try to do a full voiceover on one of my 6x6 videos someday. 🙂

Kristoe, I like to watch u craft but again, your choice of music was not good, a bit morbid actually, would prefer to listen to something a bit more cheery! I know I can mute, dah! But I am sure if u keep up with the morbid tunes I wont watch u anymore!
