The Doepfer A-111-6 is a complete miniature monophonic synthesizer voice in 10HP.
While very impressive for it's size, I was not completely sold, initially. There was a bit of a learning curve (aka, the madness behind these videos) to learn how so many features can be packed into such a tiny space, and still make this module completely bad-ass. The A-111-6 sounds amazing, especially as a bass/sub, or drone voice - set it and forget it.
The caveats (for me and my sausage fingers) is trying to get in there and tweak things live usually ends in disaster, with the knobs and switches being so closely packed together, I find I constantly bump things (out of tune, etc). But if you "set it and forget it", it's simply amazing - for $222.
The bottom line is: it's a great sounding VCO/Voice. As for it being "an SH-101 in 10HP", well... I'll leave that to your judgment :-)

🤔 Specs:
- 10HP @ $222
VCO - triangle core, frequency range of 32 Hz to 16 kHz, with an octave range switch of -1, 0, +1 octave, a MOD CV for either PM or FM via the Dest(ination) switch, a PW control, a waveform selector (Saw/Off/Triangle) and finally a 1 v/Oct CV input. And that's just the VCO.
VCF - 24dB LP, Freq knob, FM1 modulated via VCF FM1 jack, FM2 (jack) for un-attenuated CV control, Resonance knob (no CV), and can self-oscillate (Sine)
VCA - Initial Gain control, switch VCA between Gate or Envelope or Off (no control), and audio out
ENV - Gate (jack), Attack, Decay/Release knobs, Env. switch to select A/D, ADSR and A/R modes, an Envelope OUTPUT jack, and CVT for CV control over env time (jumper based)
SUB - The Balance knob will mix between primary VCO and a square "Sub" VCO to mix in at the same time. If an External Audio is patched in, this replaces the VCO Sub in the mix.
As always, thank you for watching, Liking and Subscribing ❣️🥰
