We call this type of dish fatteh in Jordan! But the bread is deep fried to toasty goodness and the toppings can be a lot of different things- hummus (often with ground lamb and toasted pine nuts), mtabbal (eggplant dip similar to baba ganouj), fried eggplant cubes with tahinniyeh and pomegranate seeds, labban jameed and lamb meat (mansaf leftovers), and just so many delicious combos based on getting fried bread wet 🤤

Syrian food influenced by ottoman/Turkish food in general, Lebanese food is influenced by syrian/ottoman food Syria and Lebanon shares the same culture and have the same influences which accrued in the levant area we are all (بلاد الشام )so this thing going on all the time and this rivalry and competition is not valid Syria and Lebanon are the same culture with slight differences depending on the geographical place you were born in anyway this is called Fate فتة and it is very common food in syria Lebanon Palestine levant in general
