Don Meichenbaum, Ph.D., was voted one of the top 10 most influentual psychologists of the 20th Century. Together with Marvin Goldfried and Arron Beck, he is credited with creating what has become the most dominant form of psychotherapy in the world: cognitive-behavioral therapy. He, by contrast, attributes the entire approach to his mother. In this interview, he reviews the history of the approach as well as highlighting the strategies and evidence-based principles clinicians can use to help clients survive the COVID-19 crisis.
