I had a lab about induction motor in my previous semester of my studies, and I had connected ammeters to each phase. One of them had a blown fuse, and when I started the motor it was just hamming and the rotor wasn't moving at all

Well done! Nice demonstration. One more sudgested experiment would be: to take 3phase star connected induction motor, connect its centre (neutral) point to neutral, and than disconnect one of the phases. Turn power on/off, show currents and also do a load test. This would be a good way to show the advantages of having 4 wires (with neutral) connected from motor to a distribution line in a single phase fault scenarios (especially for the parts of the world where phase faults are frequent and thay don't have phase control rellays.

Excellent demonstration. Thank you very much. I understand that most motors have three windings and are modified to run as single phase motors through the help of the capacitor. Can we get rid of the capacitor and rearrange the winding connections to run as 3 phase? Is that a possibility?

So this mean we can run 3 phase motor in one phase electric but we have to move it by hand to start the motor Correct me if I am wrong thank you.

Technically yes, but keep in mind that the motor won't be able to develop the same horsepower and it isn't something I would advocate because of the obvious safety concerns.

Where is the fault likely to occur with: Three phase motor (CLASS A) 180/135W 1.2/1.0A CAP 10uF but... CAP used is 270uF 250v?

How would you test this in a real life scenario? Would you see no voltage from one of the leads? Or any sort of grounding from one of the phases?

Testing would be difficult with a multimeter depending on how the motor lost a phase. problem solving something like this relies on visual and audible observations mostly, the tell tale sign is listening for the loud humming noise coming from the motor while it is not rotating. The unfortunate part is that the motor cannot remain in this state for very long before the motor windings become damaged.

Good video. I was wrong, i thought the motor would spin on 2 phases. Without assist. I figured would would pul 2-3X the current and possibly spike voltage. Current did spike, but as you say wasn't enough to turn 2/3 phase motor.

The main point is that the third phase helps establish the direction of rotation, that is why I could manually spin the motor into any direction I wanted. once that was established, the pulsations of the remaining two phases was sufficient to get the rotor up to speed, bear in mind that the motor was not under any type of mechanical load.

what is current drawn by other two phase at single phasing please? what percentage is more than motor FLA at single phasing occurs during running and also provide the value at starting. thank you very much

In previous lab experiments, the two other phases will draw in excess of 2 times the FLA rating of the motor, in this case it was 2.5 amperes.
