I use a powerbank instead of rechargeable batteries+charger. Lasts longer and takes up less space.

I get that it lasts longer (and is probably less wasteful than round batteries), but help me understand the "takes up less space" part... the ONLY reason I always use the internal batteries is because I don't have to have another 'thing' plugged into the unit. If the batteries are INSIDE the unit, then doesn't that setup take less space? Genuinely curious about how you're using it.

@@synth-studio no seperate charger needed. I compared it to the complete solution. Of course it depends on the size of charger vs powerbank

You can connect the 101 directly to your phone with just a data cable and you’ll be able to record audio in and out also transmit midi.

@@synth-studio I use a standard lightning to usb-b cable. This video’s audio is recorded with the video straight to iphone using that cable. You can also use other iphone apps like AUDIOSHARE to record just the audio. :) kzitem.info/news/bejne/tq-OnqxqsoB8eG0

@@funkavy Any creative way to add the Vocals to the 101?
@appclusiveplus

@@magnuseriksson8081 I tried a Shure MV-7 USB mic on an Android phone and that phone connected to the MC-101 at the same time without success. What works though, is to record vocals to the phone and then either use a looper track to get the vocal recording into the MC-101 or directly sample the vocal recording into the MC-101. Something I never tried: use a Raspberry Pi with an OS where you can configure audio routing and connect a USB mic and the MC-101 to it, so the vocals are routed to the MC-101. Never tried it though.

Thanks for all the tips! With regard to the folding stand, my MC-101 has raised ridges around the rubber feet on the bottom. If yours has those too, did you file them down after removing the rubber feet or just stick the folding stand across the ridges?

Great video, but consider increasing your overall volume to match other videos in the space. Your video is at -23dB which is 10dB-15dB lower than everyone else. Always remember, KZitem will NEVER increase volume, they only reduce it if it's too loud. #StatsForNerds #Minus14LUFS #MC101 #Dawless

Did you ever consider to use a Boss RC-202 instead of the Tascam mixer? I know, it is heavier, but it also comes with a lot of voice effects, plus it has the ability to loop vocal tracks with good options for life performance. And with a MyVolts 9V USB cable it could be powered via a power bank as well.

I like to use this setup without any smart devices, but the Tascam has two TRS 1/4” inputs, and of course with the MC101’s faders it’s easy to record analog audio out of the L+R TRS outs. So just twin TRS 1/4” cables.
