You are much more calm than I would have been. But I wish you the best on your journey hun. That is scary & this is another added reason to my list of why I don't go to salons at all. Sorry that happened to you!

I heard about this before they mix the relaxer with the deep conditioner, they dont neutralize so your hair breaks/falls out off really fast. You should sue them.

Even at dry bars your hair isn't safe if they don't know that high heat can damage your curls. There is tons of videos of naturals stating their hair is ruined from them getting a blow dry. I'm a black cosmetologist that just graduated last year and they don't spend a lot of time on hair care. It's all about reaching you how to pass state board and teaching you hair styles. There was a lot of girls running around of all races with damaged hair and I know more about hair care than styling and I had to school a few. When they straightened black people hair, they concentrate heat on it so much because they think our hair is supposed to get like their hair. I even had a someone tell one of the girls "that's enough, that's the straightest my hair will get". If you are concerned about keeping your texture, to be honest you are better off doing your own hair and that way you can't blame anyone else unless you know someone that has been going to a particular stylist and their hair is flourishing. Even with being relaxed, we have to be cautious. Some things are not meant for out textured hair. A round brush on textured hair is like pulling the Velcro off the other part continuously and will result in unnecessary breakage period

This is a good reason why, now that I'm natural, I won't be heading to any salons. Even when I was doing hair relaxers I refused to go. I had 2 hair disasters as a child. The first one a man was supposed to be putting Jheri Curl in my hair (my mom's idea) and he was mad at my mom due to him either changing the appointment times or whatever. He did not rinse my hair completely. I had 14 inches of hair at the time, a good chunk of that fell out. I then went to another salon and the woman (much older) for some reason wanted to chop all of my hair off. She chopped it off and I had like no more than a couple of inches. Ever since then I chose to not go to salons because the beauticians really view their jobs as just another job. There's no pride in what they do and they have no issues screwing over children. My hair was long, thick and luscious and ever since then I have had serious issues trying to grow it back and I have had nothing but shedding. I did a big chop two days ago and I am on a natural quest to get my hair back and stay as far away from salons and chemicals as possible. I even do my own nails. I don't trust others with anything attached to my body.

I AGREE WITH YOU 10000%the same damn thing happen to me, I had been natural for4years and the bit% put either a perm or a TEXTURIZER in my hair. I didn't realize it until a few months ago when I read a blog myself that my hair never went back to it kinky state.i wish I would have known because I would had sued the drowes off that ho. I am still thinking about doing a big chop for the first time. Last time I just let the perm grow out and I loveed that my hair was kinky kinky kinky. NEVER AGAIN

I hate salons now! I called myself going to a salon to try a demi permanent to my natural hair to cover up my greys. And now I've washed my hair a couple of times and notice that my hair doesn't kink the way it used to. I have tried doing sets with some of my natural hair products and the curls now look like a person who has gotten a roller set while sitting under the dryer!! I am very angry!! Ive been natural 6 years and this is such a complete disrespect to me!! I can't even explain!!

You hear about this happening but to hear it first hand from someone who actually experienced it....horrifying. What if you had an allergy to these products? I’m sorry it happened to you. It’s a violation of you body. It’s an assault. You should put the salon on blast so they never get to do this again,
