Having an office is a sign you are moving your business in the right direction! It is definitely not lifestyle creep. It’s great to be able to keep work/life separate and in separate spaces. Get yourself as an incorporated company if that’s workable in Canada and make the most of all the tax benefits you can! You are rocking this girl! Keep up the good work, love from Australia 🇦🇺 Xx

So excited about the video! About lifestyle creep, my friend and I (she just got her first full-time job) were talking about it and ended up agreeing that there should be such as thing as "lifestyle investment" alongside "lifestyle inflation" lol! Like, if you have more money now and can afford the nicer thing (clothing, supply, etc.) that lasts longer vs. buying cheap clothing that breaks every year and eventually paying more (sigh, it IS expensive to be poor!) then it's worth it. I think the office is in the lifestyle investment category for sure ;)

I love this idea as well! Especially what you're saying with higher quality items which might be more expensive at first but don't need to be replaced as often and end up saving you money in the long run. 😊

Lol, I live with my wife and I pay for everything. She only works part time but it works for us. There are so many ways to make a relationship work and what works for one couple might not work for others. 10 years later, we are still going strong.

I’ve always been a hardcore saver so I’ve never really looked too much at my spending, but since moving in with my partner and saving a bunch of money on rent, I’ve definitely found myself spending more. Im a grad student so I live on a very small fixed income in a fairly high cost of living area, so it’s definitely been time to start reflecting on my spending and budgeting. Specifically I am wanting to cut back on grocery bills as much as possible (looking at you, inflation) so that has been my main focus the past month.
@ZoePritchard
Жыл бұрын
Oh man, grocery prices have gone through the roof! What has helped me stick to by grocery budget and spend less is going many times during the week to get groceries, and only buying exaaactly what I need and know I will eat/use in the next few days.

I read something recently that said the only time you should compare yourself to someone else is when you are using them as an inspiration to yourself and your journey and that's how I felt about this vidoe. It is so great to see how much you've made and what the real potential is for earning on KZitem. Thank you for sharing! 😊

I’m from Newfoundland, Canada & we pay our hydro bill every month & every month of the winter you’re looking at $250-450 a month in our home(depending on the month because of how cold it is out), & it isn’t a huge home! I didn’t realize just HOW expensive it was here until I heard you say $300 every 2 months was really expensive 😮
@ZoePritchard
Жыл бұрын
Wow, to me that seems sooo expensive!! But maybe it is colder in Newfoundland? I'm sure if I had let myself heat the place to a comfortable temperature, my bills would have been way higher. Sidenote, I looove Newfoundland! I visited in 2014 and I hope to go back one day ❤️

Similar to what you said I think lifestyle creep is making monetary decisions after an income increase without really asking yourself what is adds to and takes away from your life or just based on worrying about your optics, normative ideas about what you are supposed to do with your money/how you are supposed to live etc.

Great job on your added income. Amazing. Just curious do you pay off your credit cards every month in full or do you carry a balance? Maybe the extra money is the universe urging you to pay them off?
@ZoePritchard

haha i always pay em off 💸 ive never carried a balance on my credit cards, the interest is way too high. During tougher months last year I sometimes had to transfer part of the balance to a lower interest line of credit, but i am currently paying that off 😇

I would absolutely love if you would include some savings goal updates in these videos! I know you make the videos every few months about your current goals/money priorities, but in these monthly updates (and especially when you have big income months like this!) I would love to see an overview of where the money went, not just how much to fixed expenses and cash envelopes, but also to debt payoff and each of your savings goals!🥰
