I go over my 1,150 Watt backyard sound system, showing you how it works and the equipment I use!
I also included some product information just in case anyone was curious, or wanted to look into buying this equipment for a sound system of your own!
This video took me quite some time to put together and a like would greatly be appreciated!!!
Do note that when I say 1,150 Watts, that is the potential that the speakers have. They have the ability (in the way they are configured) to use 1,150 RMS total power. Because I'm running the amp at 4 ohms (I did use a multimeter to confirm this) I can only utilize 350 Watts per channel from the amp. So technically I can only use 700 Watts of power, but again when I say 1,150 watts, it's the systems potential.
I do apologize for the fast moving text, this is my first time doing a voiceover video like this and there was so limited time I had for text to be shown, so again sorry about that. Just pause and read. Some of that text might answer questions you may have.
I know I didn't really run any sound demos but that's not what this video was about! This video was just an overview of the system.
The amount of people that are thinking right now "why would you set your EQ like that. Those speakers can't hit those frequencies!" Well 1. I didn't ask nor care what you think. 2. Again I don't care...
My equipment. I can do what I want!
On the JBL data sheet you can see it says 150 watts continuous program power, and 75 watts pink noise. Don't worry about the pink noise rating for those who are new to the world of audio. What you want to look for is the continuous power rating or "RMS" rating.
And yes. I did install this myself. As I describe in the video I got this equipment overtime. I didn't do it all at once.
The neighbors do think it's pretty cool! The good think about the fence is it does actually contain a lot of the noise in my yard, it's quite shocking actually at how well it does block noise. That's the good thing about the main speakers being on the ground with that fence!
On Halloween I had this system cranking. It was actually dimming the lights inside every time the bass hit!
So why make a video like this? Well before this channel existed, and before my sound system existed I liked watching videos of other people sound systems to get an idea of what I would want to do for mine! So after installing it and using it, I thought someone might find the information or experience I've had with the system useful. Or just find this entertaining! That's what I thought of other sound system videos, so I decided to make a video of my own!
3:44 Yes that is the speaker under the porch and not in the back. But that's where the 16 gauge speaker wire and 14 gauge CL3 wire are connected for the back speakers. Under that speaker is where most of the connections are made for easy access.
Enjoy! And if you have any questions feel free to ask in this channels discussion section!
