In this FREE Webinar on "My Path to Computational Biology", we had a few speakers who shared their story on how they came to be interested in this domain and how they are using it in their research. We hope that this will help some of you see a path for yourself and ask any questions you might have from these students, researchers, faculty or industry experts what they could recommend for you.
First, we will hear from our Research Fellow, Sonalika Ray who shared her project update on liver cancer drug resistance and drug repurposing - she is working on her master's degree in bioinformatics and has jpined the research fellowship program to compelte this project. Then we will hear from Dr. Laura Harris and hers student, Amber Park - they will speak about their stories of how they got interested in computational biology and what opportunities exist in computation biology for teaching, research and education. After that, our team will share their perspective on how they got involved in bioinformatics. Dr. Mazumder will speak about bioinformatics tool development, as well as how research projects lead to applications in research and industry. Then, Dr. Kaur and Clinton Cunha will speak about their background in collaborative projects where bioinformatics methods and big data were a bridge for academia and industry working on cancer.
