The Glam Belle you can look into Myo Inositol as well. Have they checked if you're Insulin Resistant? Have they checked your Ferritin levels? If you google, you'd find out more about Ferritin and hair loss. If you say your iron was low, your Ferritin levels aren't probably great either. As for what you can do for your PCOS, look into plant based diet. Animal products have loads of hormones and antibiotics in them and it causes havoc in our bodies Xxx

I am also diagnosed with PCOS. and Hair loss and regrowth is my concern too..I just wanna say that I have been taking Cinnamon and licorice root powder to bring down my extra male hormones. I also have Saw palmetto capsules to reduce testosterone levels . Spearmint tea also helps in bringing down these hormones. These hormones are the basic culprit. So You can try these tips. My Doctor has also told me that my Vitamin B12 levels are a little low. She has presecribed supplements. Iron is something that I must also check too. Thank You for that one! In the end, God is Good. Even if he allows hair loss, He wants us to not give up but put our trust in him. Then and only then I have experienced peace. I hope this message helps. God is Great!

I brought down my T hormones almost to the norm by fasting, lost a lot of weight too, nothing else worked, all those pills you named works only when you fix your eating hours(which is the main cause of insulin resistance that makes impossible to lose weight, eating for maximum 8 hours a day and fasting for 16 stops your body from overproducing insulin=you lose weight)carb consumption is the main cause of all inflammation, the recommended 250-300g a day is way too much,a person with pcos shouldn't eat more than 150 grams of carbs per day, that means eating more protein and fiber,it's not dieting because you eat big portions, you just eat less calories but it doesn't feel like it because your stomach is full. It makes it seem like 150 grams is very little but if you stop drinking sugary water and eating stuff make out of flour you will realize how much 150 grams really is.Also stop eating any imported fruit,it's laced with pesticides and other stuff that causes inflammation,I eat only local fruit like berries and apples,i dont count them into my carbs,i count potatoes and rice, buckwheat, lentil as carb.

Lumpysmack Princess keep at it, I have it strong in my genes, both my sister's& most of my female cousins on my mother's side has it, it's definitely genetic for me, but symptoms of PCOS can vary for each individual based on hormonal levels so the sad part is none of them experience hair loss, I am the only one, you would think in a family that is prone to PCOS I would have someone to relate to

I have pcos with no family history, and Endometriosis. I've managed to all but cure all my PCOS symptoms naturally - please look up endocrine disruptors. look up the "dirty dozen" chemicals which can cause a hormone imbalance. But if you dont have time I urge you to change 2 things. quit plastic (even BPA Free plastic) and get a menstrual cup. No more tampons. These 2 things alone will make a huge improvement, because they are riddled with pesticides, bleach and other harmful chemicals which disturb your hormone balance. PCOS can be caused by inflammation as well, which I am working on now with diet and exercise. But I have been on this journey to treat my PCOS naturally for over 2 years, having been diagnosed over 10 years ago. I promise you its made the world of difference to me.

tried every diet in the world for 10 years after i got diagnosed pcos/hirsutism/pre-diabeties/high blood pressure, nothing worked, just kept gaining weight and feeling hungry, lost like 40% of my body weight in 2 years through intermittent fasting, higher protein/fiber intake, lower carb,it keeps you full but you eat less calories if you just take the same size portion of fiber and protein instead of carb, also watch oils, you might think you are just eating a small portions of fries but if they werent cooked in the oven they absorb a lot of oil which contains tons of calories and creates more inflammation in your body,I just cook potatoes in the oven(or an air frier) by using a basic spray bottle for food, you just put olive oil in it and spray any food instead of dousing it with tons of oil. Whats good about intermittent fasting it's that it isn't a diet, you dont eat small portions, you eat big portions but without anything fried or carby, just find veggies and proteins you like,I love making stews in winters, easy to make and keeps me full, you just throw in your favourite meat or lentil as protein, then favourite veggies and potatoes and tons of spices for stews. It's ok to eat 2 big potatoes a day, especially when they are boiled, baked potato with the skin is healthy, way more nutritious than flour/white bread which you should cut out completely because it literally had no vitamins, just useless calories from which you feel more hunger, that's the only carb I watch, the rest rice, potato is ok in moderation. The key is hours in which you are allowed to eat,for me fixing my eating hours took me 8 months till i stopped feeling hunger. I started eating 8 hours a day,now I sometimes eat 4 hours because i sit at home and do nothing,i feel 0 hunger. It's literally the only cure out there for pcos, nothing else will help you lose weight till you fix your hours, you should NEVER eat more than 8 hours a day, your body overproduces insulin and all you eat goes to your stomach instead of creating energy, that's why you feel tired, when you fast for at least 16+ hours your body rids itself of over produced insulin and starts taking your own body fat and burning that.I wish someone tought me how to fast years ago when I was a teen. I also used to have 150/80 blood pressure, now it's constant 110/60,I used to have pre-diabeties which caused even more hunger, now completely gone,I also used to have anemia even tho I ate so much, now I dont. Also majority of ppl are deficient in D3 vitamin,if you have no sun exposure for 15 minutes a day you have to take vitamin D,especially if you are dark skinned and live in colder climates, that's why black people have higher obesity rates in America,D3 works like a hormone regulating your metabolism and it's cheap. I know that people in Scandinavia are given these pills by the gov.

Im having the same problem. I went to the salon today for spa and the amount of hair I lost today made me sick. Losing chunks of it everyday is devastating for me because the only thing I've wanted in my life is thick and long hair but here im getting bald patches over my scalp. I've used so many remedies for hair regrowth but my hairfall just won't stop plus the mood swings are just terrible. The trip to the salon was an eye opener that I really need to focus on my medication that I've been avoiding since past few months. Never thought a little imbalance in hormone levels can get people depressed. I hope you all recover soon ♥️

Im up the wall with my hair. Im a curly girl too and the people closest to me know how much of a passion my hair is for me. But I also have PCOS and its caused my hair to shed and be brittle on and off all of my adult life. All i ever wanted was long, thick, healthy hair and I do literally everything you can do to grow your hair. I treat it like a fine silk scarf that must be given TLC. And I get to a plateau and stop growing, or start shedding and then its really thin and dull and sad. I understand the struggle. If I could make a wish, it wouldnt be money or anything fancy or to be thinner or prettier..... it would be long hair :( not much to ask is it? The hair god can be a cruel god.

I'm currently trying to stop my hair shedding. I was diagnosed 11 years ago. I go through phases of hair loss. I'm curly so its very easy to hide, but the clumps that come out in the shower, and all over my house is depressing. I've been trying to grow my hair long all my life, and these set backs make me really sad. I have no history in my family, and no weight issues either. What I do notice is that the shedding phases usually follow a period of unhealthy eating and not exercising. I really hope I can stop it asap. My hair was getting really thick and long and shiny, I'm devastated. Sorry for the rant. Just getting some feelings out.

Oh no... I have the same, PCOS and Hypothiroid. My doctor told me that testosterone levels are hiking up because of the poultry chicken. She asked me to drop that from my diet. Chicken and all animal fat thats present in the whole meat market has a huge huge amount of testosterone injected in them. The breeders do that to produce more flesh. Become a vegetarian. Control your blood-sugar, and apply onion juice in your hairs. Hope you will see some results.

I was just diagnosed with PCOS too. I have high DHT (testosterone), I also notice my hair thinning and acne. I'm just like you, I'M healthy, I'm fit, bodyfat percentage of 18. I work out 6 days a week, eat super healthy and yet this is happening. One thing that I read however is that high androgens are brought on by high insulin levels. You should get a fasting insulin test done. If you have high insulin (most pcos sufferers do) then you should try to tackle the high insulin. That is what I have been doing. High insulin is what causes Pcos. I've eliminated all grains and have gone low carb. So far my skin completely cleared up. My issue was acne. I also heard that taking zinc cam help because it mimics testosterone and for whatever reason helps the free testosterone get eliminated from your body.

liaciaria hey! 😊 inositol powder is a supplement. You can dissolve it in water, coffee, whatever. It has a very slight sweet taste so I like it just in plain water. There have been studies done that women with pcos responded AS WELL to inositol as they did to metformin! (Medication normally prescribed for pcos that has side effects) however the dosage was about 2tsp whereas on the package it will recommend only 1/4 tsp. (That is a good dosage for people without pcos. ) the low GI diet can be really hard but I saw DRAMATIC results using those 2 together. (Acne clearing up, cycle returning, 50lbs lost... this is no joke! ) And if you want to add one more thing I would recommend chromium. Just a regular dose.

Hi Belle, I am so glad that i found your video because i have been facing the exact same problem too. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 yrs ago and since then i was having issues with my hair. But it was until and about a year ago that i was having severe hair loss (almost growing bald). When i consulted a dermatologist he asked me to get a couple of tests done and noticed that i am low on both iron and B12. He then prescribed me with to go for injectives rather than tablets for Vtamin B12 deficiency for better and sooner results, but i have been very skeptical to get them on. He also gave me tablets for amino acid and biotin and asked me to change my shampoo. The doctor also had asked me to consult a physician, just in case i wanted to get extra assurance on his solution to my hair loss problem. I have since then been researching on this and have been looking around for people on all sorts of social media to see if there is anyone who has been diagnosed with something similar. Tank you so much for putting this video out.

Hi GlamBelle! You are my hair idol! I also have PCOS and have found changing my diet has helped my hormones. I am sure you're eating healthy especially as a fitness coach, but it's surprising how certain foods, even healthy ones, can affect our hormones (especially with PCOS). Have you tried any of the PCOS diet tips out there? I struggle with my weight (losing any!) and have had hair loss issues. Once I cut my sugars, caffeine, oils/fats, dairy, carbs and gluten from my diet I saw SERIOUS changes. I lost 15 pounds without exercising, my skin cleared dramatically and my hair seemed more full and healthy. I also take B12 and iron like you. I started reading the book "8 Steps to Reverse your PCOS" by Fiona McCulloch and things are really looking more positive. Her book is quite new and had more info than my endocrinologist had even known about. I hope this helps! You're not alone!

I am going through the exact same struggle as you. Feels comforting in a way to know that someone you follow on KZitem is also having the same issue. I lost truck loads of hair in the past 5 months and lately what has been helping me is massaging oil into my roots (castor with coconut or if you get hibiscus oil then like a 1:3 proportion) once a week. I am sure you cowash and use sulphate free shampoos as that ṭoo helps a lot. I stopped colouring my hair completely Coz of this too. The hairloses has finally almost stopped for me but like you said, it hasn't been easy. Plus the skin issues. Once upon a time my skin was so clear that people thought I wore a lot of make up and now I too suffer breakouts. This all happened Coz the doctors stopped my metformin which was the drug that managed my Pcod. Now I am back on it so things are going much smoother after it. Been a pcod patient since 2003 and I too have no family history of it. Well, all we can do is keep each other motivated and smile our troubles away 😊

The Glam Belle I used to have breakouts & honestly nothing helped I even saw a dermatologist & then it literally just went away gradually, I did nothing different so I know a hormonal change caused it & I am so grateful for that but my hair loss issue is still here, my gynaecologist told me just eat well & exercise &it will lessen down eventually but it hasn't, and she is more interested in ecouraging me to get pregnant although my husband and I are not ready & that gets me angry... I am asking for help with hair loss that is already devastating & she is encouraging me to make a major life change that is going to lead to more hair loss due to stress&post partum shedding ! No thanks

Hi! I just now found your channel, I’m also suffering of hair lost in the same pattern that you, I think I might have PCOS because I also have super thick facial hair, acne, depression and irregularities in my period, I’m not overweight because I exercise almost everyday but it’s hard to see all this changes that aren’t normal, so it’s good to find that I’m not alone with this and hopefully soon I’ll get checked and work in a treatment to help me with all this stuff 🙂

Hey, I just randomly came across your video. I know it can be so terrifying to see your hair fail like it is no one's business. I suffer from the same thing. I have very long hair and i loveeeee my hair. But maintaining it with PCOS is so heart breaking, when you see long shiny strands of hair just fall. I have a DIY Indian hair oil regime that i have been following from a month and i see new hair growth. Add Onion seeds, Fenugreek seeds. Add one part castor oil and one part coconut/olive oil. Keep the mixture in sun for like 7 days and then apply it twice a week. I hope it works for you as well :)

You said that you have no family history of PCOS - me neither. What I have found is that I am very sensitive to endocrine disruptors AKA chemicals that mimic estrogen and cause imbalances in our body. I quit all plastic from touching my food and drink. i dont buy anything that comes in plastic containers. Not even water bottles, straws, lunch boxes. No plastic whatsoever. I changed from tampons and pads to a menstrual cup. I use non-toxic hair products and cleaning products. Im by no means perfect and it took about 6 months before I could see real change in my symptoms but I now have periods every month, my weight is more managable, less pain, less hair loss. I also am now on a quest to reduce stress and improve how my adrenal hormones are working. And the overall goal is to increase my natural progestrogen. I think quitting dairy is the next step for me because I dont have hair loss as much anymore but my hair is on the thin side and I just cant maintain any growth without breakage.

Hi, I'm 17 years old and I'm dealing with hair loss, and I still don't know why. Recently I got into college and it was very stressful to prepare for the exams and to prepare myself for college but also I had a fight with my dad that was very harmful to our relationship because we haven't speak in almost 4 months since the fight. I have cravings all the time, all day long I want to eat candies or anything sweet, I feel tired all the time and I'm loosing lots of hair for the past 6 months All my life I used to have beautiful, long and tick hair but since December I started to lose ridiculously fast, I touch my hair and like 10 hairs come down, I'm terrified because I'm going to college and I don't know what to do anymore, I'm taking vitamins, I workout everyday day, I eat healthy, I don't even take soda Please help me, Do I need to go to an endocrinologist, dermatologist or with who?

+ gosh I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with us! I would say that it's probably very much stress induced but if you are gaining weight and having other symptoms I would definitely go to an endocrinologist. My dermatologist has also been treating me as well. Honestly your primary care physician should be able to do enough testing to figure out what's happening Kenya Reyes

I believe it a few things going on . First many of us have a poor immune system which is vital for a healthy body to function . Second we are all mineral deficient! I figured this out over several years of trying to understand what was going on with my hair loss. I have hypothyroidism for over 30 yrs. and other health issues. Please research on trace minerals, sole water on youtube also dr. John Bergman has so many health videos on diseases, symptoms etc. really good information. My personal belief is that long term prescribed or OTC drugs wreaks havoc on your body. I am on a mission to heal myself and grow back my curly hair to its former thickness.

I have PCOS and I also have lost lots of hair in the last 17 yrs! It's crazy how my hair has changed over the yrs! I use to have lots of volume and lots of hair. I have naturally curly hair as well. It is now very fine and thin! It's so depressing! I have started taking vitamins about 3 or 4 mts ago and using biotin shampoo and conditioner. I tell my hair is healthier but it's just so blahhhhh! No volume! I use products for volume but half the time it doesn't seem to work and my doesn't grow very fast at all! Never has! I can't use heavy products because it seems to weigh my hair down. The ends of hair is fairy dry and course but not as bad as it use to be. Thanks for sharing your videos!!!

I use to have thick, thick hair .....People always thought I was wearing a wig, now I do due to the hair loss...I would love to have my baby hair back along with a full hairline. I suffer from male pattern baldness...I have uncontrollable facial and body hair too 😣DEPRESSED....I did laser treatment which lessen my facial/neck hair...My hairline is SAD....I did a blood panel and know I'm deficient in iron, other vitamins and minerals etc....I have tried the Spearmint tea 2x's a day which is reported to lower testosterone but I'm so bad with routine and was at my wits end with consuming this everyday...Rice water, black Jamaican Castro oil along with Rosemary essential oil helps but does not cure...I am 44 and have battled this since I was a teen...I have researched and researched annnnnnd researched with little success....I know the struggle...I do not want to give up and do not want to lose my peace behind this 2+ decade nightmare...Again, thank you to you and the commenters...The pcos community is supportive💙 God bless you all💜

Hi! I know about my PCOS for about six years now. I used to have very thick hair, and than I started shedding so much that I freaked out and didn't comb or brush or detangle my hair in any way, not even in the shower, for six months. Needless to say my hair looked horrible, and I eventually cut it and started combing it again in the shower. My hair loss is reduced but it isn't gone. I never regained the thickness, and I struggle with volume. I blamed the hair loss on lack of vitamins and the shampoo I was using at the time, but now I realize it can be from PCOS. Thank you for this eye opener, I will discuss it with my doctor in my next appointment! And just curious, but did your hair loss have a role in the fact that in your updated curly hair routine you use B'leave in and wave maker, as opposed to the ultra defining gel and supercream you used in the old one? Does it help with the volume?

I read PCOS causes insulin resistance .I’m a type 1 diabetic that has has hair thinning all over my scalp and crown.I read that taking MMST Silica can reverse hairloss from a thyroid issue?!.MMST silica is supposed to be easier for the human body to absorb that maybe silica from bamboo extract possibly? It says online the MMSTs Silicia carries nutrients to the hair follicles ,better than just blood flow .Maybe this will help me and a lot of other hairloss sufferers.Goodluck everyone .

I've been so worried about people seeing the bald patch at the top of my head, then this morning I found out I had a massive patch missing from the back (at the hairline). I know how you feel I suffer from PCOS (undiagnosed but I know it is because I have ALL the symptoms) after having my last two boys my hair just fell out ... It all fell out in chunks and brushing it made me cry because all my beautiful hair was just leaving my scalp. I finally just cut all my hair off. :( At this point I don't even see my hair growing back at all and I'm still losing hair because I find it everywhere..... I have lost weight due to depression (iknow it's a bad way to lose weight but hey, at least I lost weight) but my symptoms still are very visible.... What do I do??? I don't know .... All I can do is just Pray to God and he shall show me the way. .. to all women struggling, you are not alone ♥️

And it didn't really get to me then because I was small and yeah I didn't bother about it so much but now my condition is so bad that I literally have to put black eye shadow on my scalp to cover the bald areas, and I just can't let my hair loose..I always have to tie it in a bun so it looks normal. I just hope that this is gonna end soon and something is gonna help my hair grow back to how it was

Bru Ocariz I’m so sorry to hear you are also going through this! I started noticing hair loss after I started tri-lo-sprintec. This was my first try with oral contraceptives, other than taking plan b twice the previous year. I started BC March 2019 and discontinued that July. I shed noticeably more hair and believe I lost 1/4-1/3 of my density. Since discontinuing, I’ve noticed some regrowth around my crown, but nowhere near what I had before as far as density goes. I also still shed too much, in my opinion. I’m seeing a new doctor tomorrow. I believe I have PCOS-just need a formal diagnosis, which doctors have been hesitant to give. Would you like to share your story about hair shedding and birth control?

Hi dear I have been struggling with pcod for the last 10 years or so and it is now after my first pregnancy that I'm also dealing with the sudden shedding of hair. I have heard that homeopathy treatment really has lasting effect and can reverse your pcod all together. You should sincerely look into if there are any homeopathy clinics or treatments. Again because it is homeopathy it takes time and there is zero side effect. It takes time let's say 1-2 years.
