Anyone ever propagate ruby cascade? I've been pretty successful propping every other peperomia I've gotten but this one has been a challenge. I tried burying it horizontally under a thin layer of soil, and sticking it in a moist sphagnum chamber and haven't had success with either method so far.

You're funny. I love my peperomia, I also have many different ones. However, I STRUGGLE with my watermelon pep, it hates me, it hates where it lives, it hates life in general, but it's not dying just to spite me. And I'm not going to put it out of its misery just to spite it. It's a hate-hate relationship.

I really enjoyed your vid + Nick shout out. I know he loves the peps. I saw many in your video that I now want. Oooh I covet so many of them. The propagation looks fascinating. Am trying to prop an eden rosso at the moment. Here is my pep ramble. The good Graveolens - on window sill with succulents. No probs. Good plant - pretty. Grows up and out. Polybotrya - Had for a month. On window sill. So far so good. Seems to be in coconut coir or something. Too scared to repot. Caperata green/red + Moonlight. All really easy and stunning Jellie - no probs - hasn't grown a lot. Scandens - the variegated one just fab. I have it is high light as I thought it was a succulent. Has grown well, but thinking of moving it to medium after your vid since it can take it. The green one is good too. Diamond - (on label) no idea if this is a puteolata or what. Gorgeous whatever it is. Had two weeks only, but it's growing. Prostrata - turtles - Only had for a couple of months. It's growing, but not as fast as string of hearts. Looks delicate to me, but a fascinating plant. I also have a piper I really like. Drinks a lot more water than peperomia. Took me a while to figure out the light situations, but now it's going gangbusters. The not-so good. Rosso - I love the look of it and the textured leaves. Shallow roots. Mine died from root rot, as it was sold in a massive wet plastic pot. Have another now - doing OK in clay, but not red underneath (different type?) Piccolo banda - It didn't like low light like the label said and died back a bit. Put in kitchen and it's growing back. Like Rosso, find the leaves (stalks) too tender/prone to rot. Don't have high hopes. Columella - the most fascinating leaves. Succulent. Killed it in a week or two. It was my first pep. Have never see one since. If anyone got to the end of this - I commend you. It was Pam's enthusiasm (and research) that made me do it.

I think they just have a bigger learning curve than a lot of plants, and the finer rooted ones like yours tend to suffer a lot of damage if you forget to water or otherwise upset them, but what I love about them is they bounce back!! So you may struggle, but don’t give up! Once you figure out what yours, in your environment, needs, you’ll be fine! Those little frosts love a semi-terrarium setting too. I’m having a lot of luck planting in open terrariums. Just a little extra humidity and water retention goes a long way! Good luck friend!! You got this!

I love peperomia!! My Ruby Cascade has the same on the older leaves, but it's def not from too much light. It gets mostly indirect light w/ about an hour of dappled sunlight. So I thought I had the Pep Hope but the stems are red so now I'm not sure. Finally, my variegated obtusifolia, which sat in an east window all summer and grew like crazy, lost most of its variegation w/ the season change. I moved it closer to a south window so it gets more light and it's now in bloom! Do you think the variegation will come back? The new growth so far has been green. Maybe it's some weird hybrid because the root system is huge and it's growth is now slowing, LOL!

Another site said to put the flat side against the window that won't stop drafts that you need tape or something if it's coming through the cracks. I guess if you have clean bubble wrap that's come in packages you could use them. But the video said that it's cheap enough at Walmart I'm going to try it especially the windows in my bedroom I try to let in light but it might have to make sure they're closed so no one sees me and my bedroom. That would give me some protection if I forget to close the drapes

Hi Pam Since peperomias are winter growers, do you fertilise them fall-winter too? This will be my first winter with mine (apart from one obtusifolia which I've had for years not knowing what is was) so I'm wondering if I should start fertilising them. I assume fall would also be the best time to take cuttings too?

Yes! I meant to talk about this in the video but I’m going to spring a video idea on my friend about exactly this instead, he doesn’t know it yet. His preference is to use a very slow release fertilizer in the early autumn so it’s there if they need it. He said a diluted monthly application would be good too.

I have the Peperomia ruby cascade, and it's so full and has so many trails, this one just grows like crazy for me. I also have the Peperomia Ruby caperata, the watermelon Peperomia is on my wish list. Love the Peperomia scandens both the variegated and the green, both on my wish list. I also have the Obtusifolia, such a beautiful deep green, I love mine so much. Awesome Peperomia collections and very informative video Pam, I do love some Peperomias but it's not easy to find here, bought one in the shop the seller said it's a Peperomia I went home and found out it's a Pilea 😂 but I do have a Variegated obtusifolia and hope and a one 2 inch long string of turtles 😁 so hopefully next spring I will be looking for some gorgeous Peperomia 😍 Thanks for sharing I really learned a lot from you 👍💚🌿

Thanks so much for watching, I'm glad you found it helpful! Where are you that the peps are hard to find? It's crazy how different the selections are in different areas!

I didn't use to like them, but I have a pepperspot which just reaches toward the sun and I love it so much, every time I shake it it drops leaves, but it grows so many new ones I figure it's just natural selection! I didn't know they grew more in winter, but that makes sense! At least we have some plants to keep us going through the sad months! 🤗

Greart video! You mentioned that peperomias are actively growing in the winter months. I am wondering if you fertilize them then, if at all?

Yes! I’m somewhat new to this info but my pal whose more of an expert told me a very diluted fertilizer once a month in the growing season should do. Peps do better without an over abundance of nutrients.

my watermelon peperomia has dark linear marks on the back of the leaves, any suggestions?

Hmmm, sounds like a watering issue if it’s lines like that. I’d peek at the roots and see if they are looking mushy or too dry.

I just went to Jordan’s jungle a few days ago for the first time. A lot of different plants but too expensive for my beginner skills

My peperomia raindrop loves me for some reason. He's in the middle of a room with north and south windows. I've watered him about once since I got him a month ago and he keeps growing!

I wish I could find a raindrop pep in my area nurseries! I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat! I've been looking for one for over a year to add to my collection.

That's wild you haven't found any!! I wonder if it's because of how fussy they can be. Betting they're easy to lose money on!

Considering hanging one of these in my skylight. It is east facing and heavily shaded, even in the winter. I might have to pick up a couple of those adorable vining ones.
