I watched this clip by accident. I have a cotton and latex mattress from shifman. Anyone who has purchased a high end all natural mattress will tell you that they tend to be too firm. I purchased my mattress from bloomies 5 year ago. The mattress has no dipping or sagging. The divan is solid as a rock. This mattress has become a bit to firm for me, so I plan to put it in the guest bedroom. Latex and cotton will last a 50 years. Even the man made latex will last 20 years. Latex as a rule is a bit more bouncy, less soft. I get the feeling that someone is trying to sale a mattress. I have no allegiance to all natural mattresses. But what you have said has not at all been my experience. People, go out and try all mattress brands and choose the one that fits you

I also stumbled onto this video by accident and what a surprise to see a comment about Shifman mattresses! It's been difficult for me to find actual customer reviews for them. I'm looking at one that has only cotton batting over innersprings - it's labeled "medium-firm" firmness on their chart, but if you have cotton+latex and that's getting to firm, then I expect cotton only will be much firmer, maybe too firm. Do you think the firmness could be remedied with a down alternative topper? Or too firm for even that? Thanks for the review.

Latex lasts 10+ years. Any reputable organic latex company has a 10-25 year warranty.

You could have gotten a firm organic bed.. And frankly, all beds are terrible for posture. Most people should be using additional ergonomic supports at the knees, lumbar and neck. You can get all sorts of construction in non toxic and glue free. from innerspring to only foam and all hybrid models inbetween. They come in different firmness levels and different combinations of livelinesses and plush topness. Frankly the intellibed could be organic and toxin free if they wanted it to be…

We also recommend exploring Naturepedic for an organic, non toxic and less expensive option.www.naturepedic.com/?sscid=b1k5_qrs1a&Shareasale&Affiliates& Sleeping posture does make a large impact on our sleep quality, but optimizing your sleep by investing in a good mattress is a critical part of sleep health and hygiene.

Those beds are expensive af. So for certain people I'm sure they're great But not everyone is sitting on 4-7k for a mattress. I'm surprised you sank into latex tho. Must have been a soft top layer

We understand it can be a large investment. For a less expensive option, we also recommend Naturepedic: www.naturepedic.com/?sscid=b1k5_qrs1a&Shareasale&Affiliates& There are also other ways to support your sleep if a new mattress isn't feasible to you right now. Hi, I'm glad to see this video. I have a pure green latex mattress, and it is just too firm for my shoulders. Mattress buying is so difficult.

The only mattress you want is one made 100% of coconut coir (meaning the firmest you'll find).

Hello! This is SUCH helpful information: your video, the article, everything! Did you get an adjustable base? In your research, does an adjustable base matter for any of the therapeutic benefits? Do you have any insight on that topic? Thank you, thank you!

@Sonja Riddle, Great! So glad to hear this! She did not. You could check with intellibed to see if they suggest any possible benefits related to the base. Her research was regarding the mattress itself. We appreciate the time you have taken to share here. ~HB Team

When I use a hard mattress it exercises my muscles, and causes more pain, my muscles were injured, they need rest. What can I get?
@richeyrich2203

That is not logical. Sounds like you have hotspots and need pressure relief. Throw a 1invh high density foam topper on there (organic or not) and then a one inch low density foam topper on top of that for 2 inch total. That will ease pressure on hot spots. In general. The healthiest place to sleep is on your back, on the floor, with a small lumbar pillow, large knee pillow and a tight neck roll. No other pillows. For the longest time, due to chronic back issues, I used a 2 inch dynamic foam topper on the floor with these supports. Side sleepers would suffer with my technique. But side sleeping is also poor for breathing, digestion, blood flow and more.

@@richeyrich2203 lol no. It is logical. I need rest. Hard surfaces hurt my existing injury. It is not rocket science. It forced my muscles to excercise to stay on the bed. Its rude that youd reply like this rather than be helpful. Foam is too firm. I need actual pressure relief.

@@Baatipari you’re right, not very helpful. I guess I misunderstood what You meant by exercise. I do consider the biological reaction to ergonomic dysfunction witch is normally experienced as spasms and flairing up of muscles that are structurally protective of joints and what not. Is that what you meant by exercise? Or did you mean, you’re gaining muscle mass while sleeping and it wears you out?

I like the Intellibed Matrix Supreme. It is rated as Soft. I havent bought it yet. Deciding between Intellibed and Tempur and Sleepovation. Intellibed is really expensive, but worth it. Great sleep is not a luxury, it is a necessity.
