Thank you so much, mine started about 6 mths ago. And I am always searching for new positive people w stories of hope. Your story was most very helpful to me. My T is the worst in the morning. That is the time I that I dread the most. I was on the verge of a panic attack when I started frantically searching for relief/some help. And then I saw your thumbnail. I knew that it had to be a video that was made recently. As I know most everything that is out there, on you tube about the subject. So, I really want to thank you again. Your video saved me from a very scary stressful time. I do have a renewed hope now, that I haven't had before. God bless you.

Dear Lori, I totally understand you. I am so glad that you could find some help in my video. It is important to look for positive stories because, incredible as it might seem, having a positive mindset is key in accelerating the physical process of getting better with tinnitus. During the first months of my relapse I literally held onto single words or phrases that I could grasp here and there from videos or doctors. I still do it now sometimes, because I think that some of them contain good tips for a better life. In my case I learned to take more care of myself and to get rid of burdens by which I was unknowingly overwhelmed. For me it was also fundamental to avoid stress and create simple soothing/relaxing routines whenever I felt panic or difficulty. Also, it was important to keep working on something I loved, in my case music. Even my tinnitus was worse in the morning, but the fact that it fluctuates points out that it is not fixed and that it can go away! Don't worry, you will get better! Please feel free to write whenever you want. All the best! :-)

Good share. Number one thing to do, is make friends with your condition and accept. Technically, it never gets better, only you can change the perception. Saying that, hearing quality has recovered. Habituation is possible. Took a couple of years.

Well done Federico for your video. I have had tinnitus since 2006. After a few months I had learned to accept it. Also for 17 years I was not bothered by it until now due to a very stressful family problem. But I am positively thinking it will recede with a positive mindset. Stress is bad for tinnitus so please all who are suffering please stay calm and positive.

Yes, very positive, important thing is not to panic, I am dare to say that everybody has it, it is very natural and part of how our body functions, it just sometimes goes out of control, be calm about it, do not let it to cause you stress, because that way it will only multiply, I wanted to say that if you think that stress caused it do not let it cause you more stress and go spiraling down, what is helping me is sending signals to my brain by touching and feeling different parts of my body, my feet, hands, knees, elbows, hair, start by squeezing your fingers and up palms, up arms, up shoulders, then same thing with toes, feet, chest, you got the idea, your body is not only your ears, thank you so much!

You know I really do not know how to start this, so I am just going to speak freely. THIS IS TO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO IS SUFFERING FROM THIS AND ARE DESPERATE! I had tinnitus for a very long time. It all started with me actually blowing my nose really hard in the shower, crazy crazy hard and I felt that it immidietly damaged my ear. Even though I was in the shower and it can get pretty loud, I felt that something was wrong. I came out of the shower and I could hear a loud beep in my left ear. And I immidietly start panicking. I was reminded of all the times in high school they would show us videos on tinnitus about people attending concerts without earplugs and getting this horrible disease. It was absolutely horrible! I could not sleep that night because it was honestly a 10 out of 10 sound. It was loud, man! I could not sleep but I almost half fell a sleep for a couple of minutes. But when I woke up it was still there. I was freaking the fuck out and I was so sad. I was so sad and all I was thinking was how I wish I could turn back time. And everything in y life changed. How I ate, how I slept, how I watched movies, listened to music, drank coffee or alcohol or enjoyed sugary treats, my relationship with my wife and friends. It was horrible. I got really depressed. I went online and read about it, I talked to doctors (several different ones), and they all told me to learn how to deal with it and that it would get better with time, in the sense that I would get used to it. I would learn how to live with it. This bothered me. You see, I have always been a person with great faith in God. I suddenly, very spoiled, but felt betrayed. Eventually BOTH my ears started ringing. It just got worse and worse I became a very bitter person and I just focused on the tinnitus and allowed it to take control over me. I remember my wife promising me that this would not last. She is no doctor and no expert, but hearing that promise from her, gave me faith and comfort. I found two people on youtube that did NOT cure me, but most definitely helped me. Liam and Julian were those two people. After 10 months of constant battle, I finally beat and cured my tinnitus. I went from 10 to a 0. I honestly hear silence again now. These are my biggest advices: 1. Have faith and be sure that you WILL beat this if you absolutely believe that you can. If you listen to the negative people or read negative comments and doubt that you will be cured, than I promise you that you will not be cured. This may upset people, but I am sorry. This is what I can say based on experience and this is what I believe. Total faith in yourself! 2. Do not go on the internet and read horror comments or negative shit about this condition! 3. Do not constantly check on your ear and see if it has become worse or better! Ignore it and breathe, stay calm. Relax! Even if it is a slow road, staying calm and having faith will allow you to get there quicker! 4. Focus on what you want to hear and your brain will slowly adapt and listen. 5. Live and behave as if your tinnitus is gone. Now, I do not mean listen to loud music....but trick yourself and your brain into believing that it has vanished or that it is going to vanish. 6. Do not focus on the amount of time you have had your tinnitus. Remember, STRESS MAKES TINNITUS WORSE! 7. Do NOT listen to people who say that there is no cure! There are no miracle pills, but with work and discipline you can beat this. I PROMISE you! I am living proof, and so are many more! Remember, people have beat cancer, learned to walk again and etc 8. Do not feel sorry for yourself or have regret about how you got tinnitus. 9. Remember to feel grateful! I know that this may sound strange. But it could be a lot worse. You could be blind, you could lose the ability to walk, you could have your face ripped off in an accident. (God bless all people who deal with these things) Stay grateful!! 10. If there are nights when you have a spike, or if there are days when you hear a new sort of sound....CALM THE FUCK DOWN! It will pass! Try fasting (I fasted for 18 hours every day), do not be afraid to eat meat (especially liver), meditate, drink less caffeine and alcohol, eat less sugar, exercise whenever you can. I had to come back and write this down, because I was depressed and desperate. Now get your life back! You can do it, I promise you that you can. Save this and read it again when you feel despair. Be a good person and be kind to people. It is ok to take the high road but at the same time do not let people disrespect you. I am sending love to you all....you CAN beat tinnitus, and you WILL if you want to and believe you can!

Hi Edwin, sorry for being late in replying! It took me about five months to just start forgetting about tinnitus. I realized that I was forgetting about it because when I went to bed I did not feel the need to turn on the ambient noise. For silence more than a year. Sometimes even now, if I strain to hear it and plug my years and monitor it I might "find" it, but this has nothing to do with the original problem. Hope you are doing well!

Hi, during the first days I put in my bedroom a litte toy that produced a soft and continuous sound of crickets. Then I used the noise of a waterfall from my cellphone. On youtube you can find plenty of ambient sounds, so you can just pick what is the most suitable for you. Each video lasts hours so you can just turn it on and fall asleep. My advice to set the right volume of the ambient noise is to turn it up so that you don't hear your tinnitus anymore, then gradually turn it down until you start hearing it again, so not to mask it completely. This way you learn to hear it just a little bit, without panicking. I went on for months to do that, until I found out that massaging my years put me in a relaxed state that did not require any masking sound, because the loudness of the tinnitus went down by itself. Kind Regards!

I got mine over 30 years ago. Long story but I got hit by a car thrown under the hood of my car hitting my head on the carburetor knocking me out. After I came to the ringing was crazy loud. I tried everything from pills to sound therapy even a brain scan and nothing. I don't pay any attention to it now it's been so long. Still loud but in time I did learn how to read lips pretty well. That and when the wife tells me to do something and I didn't do it I tell her I didn't hear you and get away with it every time.

Here’s more info that may help: Tinnitus Explanation, Positive Stories and Healing Links (updated Jan 2021) - From what I’ve researched on the internet through articles, videos and comments I have discovered that tinnitus or ringing in the ears can be the result of noise, head, physical and/or emotional trauma, high blood pressure, dental problems like bruxism (teeth grinding) or TMJ (jaw clenching) at night while sleeping, excessive ear wax or ear infection or other ear related issues, stress and anxiety, certain medications, Epstein Barr or other viruses, EMF’s from WIFi/5G or upper cervical subluxated Atlas and Axis (C1 and C2) neck related issues and even chemicals from hair dyes, personal care products and cosmetics, certain allergies to foods, Salicylates, oxalates, lectins (otherwise known as Plant Paradox), bad diet or nutritional and/or vitamin and mineral deficiencies like vitamin C, zinc, iron, iodine, magnesium, D3 and K, and even parasites. Some people also believe it’s part of the ascension process into a higher frequency and that it’s the sound of angels, higher beings, the cosmos or God communicating with them through their hearing. The standard explanation is that the brain is basically in fight or flight mode and you’re hearing your own nervous system on red alert. It can fix itself over time by using a process called habituation which is accepting it and getting used to the sound and/or neuroplasticity which is fundamentally rewiring the brain and creating new neural pathways by training it not to hear the sound which makes it recede into the background and eventually disappears because the brain sees that it is no longer a threat and as unimportant. This is achieved through the repetition of positive mental affirmations, visualization and relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, yoga, Qi gong and/or exercise and/or neck release exercises called trigger point therapy, upper cervical chiropractic adjustments and/or regular chiropractic, certain dental procedures which involve the use of mouth guards and jaw releasing, relaxation and massage exercises, cranial sacral therapy, EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique also known as ‘tapping’, hypnotherapy, visualization, and other body and mind relaxation therapies and/or masking with nature sounds or pink noise. What can also help is reducing/removing some or all coffee, teas, sodas, alcohol, salt, sugar, spices, condiments, dairy, carbs, nuts, seeds, the night shade family of veggies, salicylates and oxylates from the diet and intermittent, 24 or 48 hour wet or dry fasting. Some people see results whether they’re vegan, vegetarian or meat eaters and even some do none of the above and still get better over time. Still, the majority of what I’ve read and seen in videos is that a healthy diet, stress reducing exercises and ignoring the sound so the brain can retrain itself not to hear it have the most impact on reducing and healing T. Some people have had relief or have been cured by taking these supplements: D3 combined with K2 and Magnesium and/or Bioflavanoids combined with Vit C, B12 (also known as Methycobalamine or Methyl B12), Methyl Folate, Niacin (Flush Free), Taurine and Ginko Biloba. I have a dosage schedule available if you decide to try these supplements. A comment from Elann Suvat on one of Julian Cowan Hill’s videos: “As others have said do not go on Tinnitus Talk. In fact do not google anything. Tinnitus is a symptom of a neurological condition that can be resolved. Learn to rewire your brain through helpful videos such as this one. Reduce stress and disrupt chronic stress, get down to the root of your anxiety and depression, rewire your brain not to be sensitive or hypersensitive to environmental noise and life around you.” “It can be done. It can be reversed. One key thing about tinnitus is not to have anger, hate, stress, fixation on it. It will only make it worse and allow it to stay. Do not give your tinnitus power. Embrace it. Think of your tinnitus as a bodily noise that’s telling you your body is alive and busy healing. It’s telling you something important. Find the root cause. Is it neurological, physiological or both? Do away with negativity and toxic relationships. Diet and lifestyle are extremely important. Sleep, reduction of stress, EXERCISE, having positive social relationships, working toward a move of happiness and relaxation every day. Be kind, compassionate, patient and authentic to yourself. This is crucial. Be courageous.” Check out Julian Cowan Hill, Liam Stops Tinnitus, James Karthaus, Peter Studenik and Joey Remenyi and many others in the video compilation list below. They all healed from tinnitus using their own (and sometimes combined) techniques. Here’s a list of videos with success stories and links for various healing techniques: kzitem.info/door/PLxLNqBGWBhLxphlCH3dC1j3iPcs8hWRme www.pkdiet.com/pdf/oxalate%20lists.pdf Here are things one can do to help T written by Mike Olaski from a comment on one of Julian Cowan Hills video’s. (I‘ve added a few of my own ideas as well.): 1. Body Work -Massage -Yoga -Tai Chi -Cranial Sacral -Chiropractic or Upper Cervical Chiropractic Adjustments -Osteopathy for the neck -Reflexology -Love Making -Stretching -Yawning 2. Get Grounded in Your Body -Get on the floor -Walk barefoot in nature -Hug a tree -Hug your pets, your loved ones -Use a grounding mat -Hold, play, meditate or sleep with crystals or stones -Do gardening or outside chores -Breathe in fresh air -Get at least 15 mins of sunshine every day; if you can’t then take D3 with K2 and magnesium 3. Avoid negative people and situations 4. Ease off / avoid stimulants -Caffein -Teas (even herbal; ginger tea is ok as it promotes blood flow) -Sugar (Paleo/Keto diet removes carbs=sugar) -Chocolate -Salt - Drink filtered water 5. Meditate - Sitting or walking meditation 6. Deep Breathing 7. Let Negative Thoughts Pass 8. Mindfulness 9. Self Massage -Face, Head, Neck 10. Lighten Up - Yawning, Laughing, Singing, Humming, Whistling 11. Baths / Showers - Steam 12. Turning on / off Hot / Cold Showers 13. Slow Walking 14. Fasting - Intermittent - late lunch or dinner - One day a week or every two weeks water or dry fast - 3 day water fast 15. Protect Auditory Environment - Keep earphone / headphone volume low - Avoid loud environments, places or gatherings - Wear earplugs 16. Have fun, normalize life, don’t sweat the small stuff, reduce stress 17. Ride out spikes by doing all of the above knowing this too shall pass and you are already healed. Thanks for posting, agree with all you say and about Julian Cowan-Hill, anyone needing help should look at his postings. Mine came on 4 years ago, stress probably and like you say, only once you manage to stop being so disturbed about it does it start to back off. Mine is now often not there at all (total quiet, not habitation) and only a minor irritation occasionally, that I now know will simply go away again AND it seems to be improving all the time, thankfully! Good luck everyone and listen to what this video is telling you!

I am in a process of healing. Those of us who are hearing the sounds we don't want, let's remember we're healing and all those like Federico who made a full recovery. I have had many terrible traumas in my life, but nothing has come close to the constant pain of tinnitus. It began after a combination of many loud concerts, a sinus infection, and a huge amount of stress. 4 months in, and I am doing much better than I was in the beginning. The biggest help to me has been the positive stories (like yours, Federico), and the advice of Julian Cowan Hill. When I am calm and relaxed and surrounded by good people, I don't even hear it. I KNOW I am healing. I believe I will get better, and I have faith that I will be a stronger, more compassionate, more patient, more grateful person because of this. I promise that when I recover, I will make my own video encouraging people that it can be done. Thank you Federico for inspiring me to keep going and giving me a story to relate to.

I remember the night this video came out last year! I was in a complete mess and thought the man in the video was just a opportunist. I was wrong. I have suffered with Tinnitus and Hyperacusis (Hissing and Ringing) since the 29th march 2023 when i woke up on a week night with what i thought was the neighbours alarm across the street going off. After 10 minutes I realised it was in my head and simply went back to sleep because i had no idea what Tinnitus was then. After this i began to panic and became suicidal for months and even planned my death but found none of the methods are reliable . I was highly stressed suffering from prolonged worry, PTSD, OCD, grieving, depression and anxiety before and when it all started. I did use power tools too which caused fleeting Tinnitus for only a few seconds which went. It took me 12 months to accept the Tinnitus and start to ignore it after it started fully, but still get bad days and better days. To date after 11 months the Hyperacusis went down a little but not fully. Still cry and pray on the bad days. I try to avoid so called sound therapy unless desperate. No foods, alcohol, stress or anything seem to affect it. I still drink. No sugars otherwise. Healthy blood pressure 115/65 on average and blood work. Hangovers can exacerbate the perception of it. Just random perception and emotional response to it. Hyperacusis is evil though. A constant electrical hissing and ringing with Hyperacusis. The fridge and freezer still annoy me and i turn them off. I seem to be able to hear stuff like birds outside well. I hope and pray it doesn't get worse but i expect it will as i get older. . I have no hearing loss whatsoever at all up to 8000hz. All in the upper "normal" range on 4 separate tests. But try to protect the ears in loud places etc. I obviously cant judge others experiences or perception. Its so Strange. Thanks

Hi, my history is very similar than your, i had a noise trauma 20 year ago, in this moment a was 25, and I remebered that i said "it´s ok, Im going to listen music all the time and this is ok"... My tinnitus went away for years (15 years), but 4 years ago y had another acustic and repetitiv noise trauma and this time mi tinnitus went very very very loud and heavy whith hiperacusia. Now, I think your point is the only wey to trate the tinnitus, I think that i lose 4 years trayting to found a cure in a pill, but it´s no exist. You inspired my to try again to put the tinnitus in his place. I´ts much mor than acept it. Im working on it, and wen i´ll be bther, I´m promes you I´ll soy to you. I have Hope. Thanks. Thanks for sharing Frederico! The most important advice is to not obsess over it. Easier said than done, I know, especially when you first get it. I’ve had it for about 5 years. I have accepted it and the volume and intensity have dropped off significantly. I have learned certain triggers like lack of sleep, certain medications and foods and know that when it flares up, it will calm down again. Many days I forget I even have it. Thanks again and for all those struggling with it, take heart. It will get better and you’ll be a stronger person for it.

Hey Brad, After seven months of not singing a few days ago I was rehearsing Beatle rock songs for about an hour. Next day my neck and shoulders were tight and sore and my ears were extremely noisy and even hurt from inflammation. It really freaked me out. I took turmeric with biperine, magnesium glycinate, D3 with K and CoQ 10, vitamin C and didn’t sing for two days. It went down really low on the second day.. I haven’t done any singing since this happened three days ago. I remember Liam saying just vibration alone can cause T to become worse and advised against doing any music until the T was gone. Which means your whole music career is in the pits until you get well. So I asked Federico what he thought and he said he didn’t think it was possible for the T to get worse because of the vibration from singing. He said my mental emotional state in other words my fear of singing was what really triggered the spike. Julian agreed. But Julian also says to do gentle music. Unfortunately the project I’m working on involves the Beatles heavy rock songs mostly loud Paul songs. Now I’m wary of singing again but I’m committed to this project. It’s literally a ‘pain in the neck’ ( must change that mindset) having T but I have noticed moments where it’s really low so I know that it’s just a matter of time. The pandemic, finances, and the current political situation here in the US keeps us in perpetual fear which is very detrimental to our healing. Yoga, meditation, deep breathing and Qi Gong and keto / paleo diet, intermittent fasting are great tools to help one get back to normal. Healing T takes time but it’s necessary. The main thing is to keep the inflammation down which aids in healing. When the body is inflamed it will not heal as I’ve witnessed this with other illnesses I’ve had. Once inflammation is down the body begins it’s healing process. Also, getting blood flow to ears is also imperative because that also aids in healing. So, massaging the ears definitely helps. There are many videos online for this. I wish everyone out there well on their healing journey. And thanks so much to Federico for being there for me and everyone else. ❤️🙏

@UCuvhBNsgL4UHR2NZbt48VnQ I agree. I haven't been rehearsing since our lockdown but my T is up and down. Knowing that some days I hardly notice it gives me optimism that my meditation and some lifestyle changes are having an effect. Im working on my sleep patterns at the moment which is helping. I dont know if you have heard of Joey Remenyi but I am getting her book next week. She makes a lot of sense to me. She advocates Neuroplasticity to heal T. Anyway good luck in your journey. Best regards Brad.

@@bradwray yeah, me too. Up n down. What a way to live especially being a musician. I have also watched Liam and Julian. Liam says you can totally get rid of it. His was from noise trauma from playing his drums. Mine too plus stress n neck issue. He said Julian’s methods did not work for him. I’ve tried some of his protocol and got an inside look at his course from a friend and his it’s really strict. Julian is a lot more gentle. The trick is to keep the inflammation down so the mitochondria and neural pathways can heal. But there’s also the idea of rewiring the brain. I’m adding info here which I’ve researched over the last 7 months which may help. On another thread I’ll add Federico’s personal letter to me. Tinnitus Explanation and Links From what I’ve researched on the internet through articles, videos and comments I have discovered that tinnitus or ringing in the ears can be the result of noise, head, physical and/or emotional trauma, dental problems like bruxism (teeth grinding) or TMJ (jaw clenching) at night while sleeping, excessive ear wax or ear infection or other ear related issues, stress and anxiety, certain medications, Ménière’s disease or other physical ailments like high blood pressure, EMF’s from WIFi/5G or upper cervical subluxated Atlas and Axis (C1 and C2) neck related issues and even chemicals from hair dyes, personal care products and cosmetics, certain allergies to foods, bad diet or nutritional and/or vitamin and mineral deficiencies like vitamin C, zinc, iron, iodine, magnesium, D3 and K, B vitamins and even parasites. This is achieved through the repetition of positive mental affirmations, visualization and relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, yoga, Qi gong and/or exercise and/or neck release exercises called trigger point therapy, upper cervical chiropractic adjustments and/or regular chiropractic, certain dental procedures which involve the use of mouth guards, jaw releasing, relaxation and massage exercises, cranial sacral therapy, EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique also known as ‘tapping’, hypnotherapy, visualization, and other body and mind relaxation therapies and/or masking with nature sounds or pink noise. @@bradwray Letter from Federico to me given with his permission to share: Yes, I kept on performing even with tinnitus, but it was very very difficult for me at least for the first months. Not because of tinnitus itself, but because of the fear that I might injure myself again after that accident and that I could get worse. Basically I lost confidence in my body. I became noise-phobic for a while, also due to the fact that the accident procured me hyperacusis. I also had lost pleasure in making music or listening to it, therefore it was the psychological aspect of fear rather than the actual danger that made it difficult to play and perform. In any case, the accident was in a certain way useful because it made me more careful about my hearing. Then, with time and patience, self-confidence came back, hyperacusis went away, tinnitus went down and love for music came back! The reappearance of tinnitus forced me to make choices and therefore cut out other "unnecessary" commitments that were in fact overwhelming me and distracting me from what I cared most about. As a result, a few months later I released my band's second album! :-) Now I always wear ear protection during rehearsals and during gigs and if I'm wearing headphones I am careful to keep the volumes lower. I started by using custom made ear-plugs: they are made of silicone and have a small plastic filter inside that brings the overall loudness down in an evenly, so that the quality of what you hear is practically the same. Mine are manufactured by this german company: otoplastik.dreve.de/en/products/ It was tricky to find the best technical solution, because in my band (Didols) I mostly sing and using these earplugs made it extremely difficult because all you hear is your inner voice. So I tried in-ear monitoring, and this made it for me: I use Shure ear monitors (I think SE215 CL) that provide very good isolation from external noise and allow me to use very low volumes so that I can hear my voice and all the instruments, and this is totally working because after the gigs I am not at all ear-fatigued. In other projects, where I mostly play keyboards, I use the silicone plugs. Then if I have to sing a song or two I just remove them and even if the music gets loud for a moment it's not a big deal :-) About diet, when I had the hearing trauma in 2018 I went into a form of self-starvation, partly because of the depression that came along with tinnitus, partly because I thought that diet could influence my condition. I totally cut out salt, coffee, alcohol, sugars, carbs and stimulants in general and kept very well hydrated. I lost a LOT of weight, but not the right way. In my opinion, having a healthy diet makes your body function better, therefore it has a positive effect on tinnitus. But I am convinced that psychological well being is even more important, so if dieting becomes a form of self-deprivation, then it will be counterproductive. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find a self-soothing routine in order to get better with tinnitus. As for now, I eat a little bit of everything and my tinnitus is really low so I am fine! I kept the good habit of not drinking too much, though 🙂

casen lemafé it’s been a long time bro. I do remember running a lot. 4 miles and 1/2, 5 days a week. 15min meditation everyday... I would try to make the ringing one with me. Did my best not to react to it. I do remember using ear plugs when places were too loud but I also didn’t over due it because I didn’t want to keep my ears sensitive to sound. But honestly don’t react to it no more, don’t catastrophize. Just let go. You’ll notice you’re habituation when you start making jokes about it. Then you’ll notice... any sound will mask it. The just like that you get over it. Took about a year and a half so it’s not an easy journey. But yes don’t catastrphize and just let go. It’ll happen on its own

Thanks for the video, it's very helpful. That is a very good point about the auditory system being hyper-sensitive. There was another video done by a lady who also suffered from tinnitus who stated that when she got her hearing test, her hearing was actually better than average. Most people including myself equate tinnitus with hearing loss (that's what shows up when you google it), but if it is actually the auditory system becoming more alert, then maybe we can find alternative ways to treat it.

I take Valerian Root extract for sleep and no drugs. Huge help. 3). Did you also end up with internal body vibrations? Hyper-arousal, I think it's called. 4). Did you wake up every hour every night? 5). Did you practice meditation? 6). Did you change your diet to less sodium and less sugar and cut out or down alcohol? 7). Did you do anything else, like hypnotherapy? 8). How long was it from inception to where it was quiet? Sounds like less than two years. I'm thinking it could be just over a year, as others have said. My doctor also prescribed vitamins. It may not be resolutive, but it definitely will make your body work better. The psychological and body-based practice in any case was much more effective, at least for me. I had to find that "safe spot" where this thing did not scare me anymore and, once I found it, I got better and the loudnesss went down to practically disappearing. All the best!

A chiropractor was the first to help me and that's when I found out my neck was so tweaked from the very heavy bass 5 nights a week for 15 years as well as the volume issues. I play guitar now for the last 20 years and have been pretty lucky to be able to do so without hearing issues. At the moment I also suffer from occasional vertigo which makes for not a very happy day. Your assuredness and heartfelt sincerity helps me to have faith that I too can overcome this again. I can only say thank you so much for putting yourself out there and sharing with the world. May you create masterpieces in your future. Dear Freddy, how wonderful to talk with someone from California! Thanks for your kind words and appreciation, they are really heartwarming. I am sure that you will overcome your situation, just as I did. Unfortunately we musicians are more sensitive to sound related issues, but the key is to find your own soothing routine and get your mind off tinnitus until it gradually disappears. Just be patient and don't be discouraged! PS I had a look at your site: I loved the pictures, pretty awesome work, with some great artists too! If you want to listen to some of my band's stuff, look for "Didols" on the search engine, there are some videoclips and songs, hope you like them. Love from Italy! :-)

Have you had any relapses in you tinnitus recovery ?
@tinnituspositivestory3493

Yes, I have. In my case (but I think it applies to everybody) tinnitus is very changeable and it is perfectly normal to experience ups and downs in intensity. It is always fundamental to protect one's ears in case of exposure to loud noises, but once you have done that, you can be sure that the trend will be positive and tinnitus will lessen and even disappear, even if you can have relapses sometimes

Thank you very much for sharing your positive story. Messages like yours are incredibly important for the others going through bad times related with tinnitus. I have had many ups and downs over the past year, I’m currently going through a particularly difficult moment due to my stress/anxiety levels. Accepting it and addressing the emotional trauma/anxiety behind it is essential. I’m still having trouble with that part but I’m doing my best, because I have no doubt my emotional state plays a huge part.

Hi João, than you for your comment. You are absolutely right. The limbic brain, the part of our brain that deals with emotions, plays a huge part in keeping tinnitus afloat. Self soothing routines can really work in governing emotions and bringing tinnitus levels of down

@@tinnituspositivestory3493 Absolutely. My "spikes" always come with the perception of "approaching trouble" in my life, tiredness, stress, etc, and last for several days/weeks. During these periods I even get specially sensitive to common sounds like the microwave oven, busy streets, etc. It's like the tinnitus starts to compete with these sounds and just keeps on increasing in volume. Crazy thing, really. Makes it very difficult to "habituate", since it constantly changes in intensity and annoyance level depending on where I happen to be.

@@kyungjodo6494 I'm OK thanks for asking. I'd say I'm very, very slowly coming to terms with it and letting go of my fear/anxiety, but it is not easy. Lots of ups and downs. I'm at a point where the tinnitus is pretty much the same as always, but the reactiveness of it is very slowly coming down (on average, because it is not a straight line, lots of ups and downs like I said). The past couple of days I've even been able to enjoy listening to & playing music within a very acceptable degree of discomfort. Even heavier stuff like distorted guitars, etc. In sum, there are very few moments during the day when I don't hear the tinnitus, but I've been working very hard on telling myself it is OK to hear it. What is not OK is listening/searching for it. I cannot control hearing it, I can however control/retrain my brain to not go looking for it constantly. To end, I'd say that working on acceptance and focusing on what you can do instead of what you can't do is the key to start living a more normal life.

Thx for the very informative video. I have tinnitus in my right ear. The problem is that it goes down for a couple of days and then comes back for one or two. Then again it goes down. Its like a cycle. Can u pl, tell me why this happens so that I can take the necessary steps

Dear Renu, unfortunately nobody knows for sure. I am not a doctor, but as far as I could understand, it is a condition of the neurons involved in processing the sounds. After a big stress (auditory, physical, psychological, medical, pharmaceutical) these neurons become hyperactive and give you the impression of hearing a sound that, in fact, does not exist. The fact that, in your case, it goes in cycles means that your condition can definitely improve and hopefully disappear. My biggest advice is to try and not give it too much importance. Also, find a soothing routine that can make you feel at ease whenever you experience a spike (massages, bathings, relaxation, walks, practicing a sport, etc.). In any case consult a good doctor so that you can rule out other possible causes. Let me know!
