The Ortofon 2m line, especially the lower end, have ridiculously high output (even more than what is officially stated, I believe). That's why they tend to sound bright and distorted. I wish manufacturers would stop slapping that 2m red on everything.

The anti skate weight got knocked off because the tone arm has no protection from swinging fully left and right, and that ridiculous fishing line + weight setup is a sitting duck alongside it. Reading user reviews, i see lots of people criticising the turntable for that anti skate line and weight system. I was tempted to pick one of these up but that poor design has stopped me. Shame.

Hi there. I remember a few years back you had a video with a P mount turntable. I believe it was the same one own(q300). I’m in the market and was considering the Evo. Do you think it’s better than that P mount? Or is it more of a lateral move. Thanks!

@EzeeLinux
3 жыл бұрын
There is a slight bit of motor noise but it's very low and I didn't find it to be a problem. If you're looking for dead silence I'd suggest you look at the new Technics SL-1200 series... Direct drive tends to be very quiet when done right but you're going to pay for it. :)

@@EzeeLinux I would love to get my hands on A SL-1200 but have a AT-LP60 budget. I currently have a used 1 Xpression Carbon Classic DC that I have made some tweaks to. for that price you should have got a Rega better turntable better moth arm. the project primary e is a good table for about $240 that's with preamp bit cheaper without. The nagaoka mp-110 or 150 cartridges very good is moving iron or the audio-technica at-vm95ml $150 is a superb cartridge being micro line you won't get your inner groove distortion like you were getting. Best upgrades you can do for that turntable what will make a big difference! take the feet off get some 3 inches minimum open cell foam like an old mattress and place the turntable on that put the feet on a separate piece of board three quarters of an inch of MDF, or if you want keep the feet and cut the foam around the feet raise the feet and glue it to the bottom make sure it's tight against the bearing housing. Should be able to get a small needle and thread the line through the weight or just push it with the needle blunted end
