Stylists (as I am) tell you every 6 weeks but spoiler alert: DON’T. The average person grows 1/2” to 1” per month. The wrong stylist can easily take 2” or more depending on their idea of where to take the trim. Only trim when YOU see split ends, not when your stylist says you’ll have them.

@@medusa2257 everyone's hair grow. Unless they are experiencing health issues. But other than that EVERYONES hair grows. But retaining length is what's going to let you get long hair. Other people also have been struggling for years. You just have to find what's working for your hair. Maybe your hair needs more moisture. Maybe you use heat or chemicals? Maybe you should do more protective styles. Or maybe you need to stop using so many protective styles that are too manipulative. Maybe less is more. Or maybe you are taking care of your hair well and your scalp needs a boost, try oils if you haven't already. Idk. But everyone's hair grows.

Thank you for being ON POINT with the trimming tip! If your goal is long hair, then stop cutting it! Your ends will not be splitting if you are keeping the direct heat (flat iron, hot comb, blow dryers with comb attachments, curling wands, etc) away from your head and keeping your hair moisturized and your ends sealed properly.
@kathleenadeshoga8415

@meIatonin
Жыл бұрын
@@kathleenadeshoga8415 what’s mechanical damage does that mean braiding?
@Munira_crunch
10 ай бұрын
Physical damage, mechanical tends to be used as a synonym for physical, like mechanical distractions (holding a phone while driving) and such. Mechanical damage refers to damage done via external things touching and rubbing on your hair, like pillows, your shirt, your hands, etc. Over time, it’ll wear your ends down. However, mechanical damage isn’t nearly as much of a leading factor to breakage as heat/chemical damage, so focus on that and you’ll be able to trim your hair less often and grow more. Some hair types are more suspect to damage, so it’s different for everyone. @@meIatonin

I always thought my hair grew slowly BUT it was the breakage that kept it short and thin ends. Now I do regular protein treatment and olaplex.and my hair doesn't break as much a before. Huge difference. I'll try your tips and hope it works for me.

Use rice water mix with coconut oil like once a week or once a month. Also use fenugreek oil. Deep condition every time u wash ur hair, and if ur skin doesn’t react bad to biotin , then take some biotin and definetly do the scalp massages like the said in the video

I'm not sure if it's true or false but I hear both that every individual regardless how much patience & care you do for your hair, each person has a maximum length their hair can grow depending on genetics. It makes sense because I know many who have tried for several years and cannot get pass a certain length. Is that still a debate?

Hmmmm my secret to hair growth has been trimming and moisturizing it. I cut it every 4-6 months to get the dead split ends off. It stimulates my hair and grows long w/ less breakage. I feel like a lot of ppl are scared to trim their hair and that’s why they’re left with this long dead hair calling it their “length”. But a long piece of hair means nothing and looks ugly if it’s not healthy. Would rather have long, even hair down my waist than long, dead, uneven hair to my hips. So this may work for her but esp the tighter the curl pattern... girl trim that hair stop holding on to dead hair.
