She probably said that cause you told her that her parents said you weren’t allowed in because you were Indian when in fact it’s because you got the vibe they were racist. lol you didn’t disprove anything. It’s probably another lie. Why would you show up to a girls house who don’t date and get mad when they say they are busy doing family photos?!!! Weird also one last thing. However, that routine had no effect outside the life of Rodney Dangerfield (even if he was a bit annoyed when people thought his act was reality). Hasan hits on real life issues, with very real life impacts that effect many people. It's a different realm than just a routine. The Prom Doorstep issue: agreed with the statement "It's understandable." The rest of it is deliberate muckraking against Minhaj. FBI harassment: should have used his own story, or credited the story to Hayat's life (ironic if you know what Hayat means). Anthrax scare: feels stupid to embellish when the reality is good enough. In a way, it’s a shame the article forced you to spell this out. Kind of like seeing a ‘behind the scenes’ of a fantasy film, and learning a portion of it was green screen or special effects. I think we all understand that there’s a certain amount of tweaking for narrative purposes in storytelling - we just ignore it and consciously ‘buy in’ because that enhances the experience. I think good stories are built on a foundation of truth, and it’s easy to sense when that’s not the case. A true storyteller knows what to manipulate so audiences get the best bang for your buck, entertainment wise, while the purposes of the story remains clear.

Not a public performer, but I give speeches for my work. I absolutely conflate disparate anecdotes together and glue them together with poetic license. It would take 5 times longer to tell all the stories and they would be 1/5th as engaging. Like if a person days "A" on one occasion and "B" another time, and you want to show how "A, and B" is a compelling point, then just tell the story as if they were said in the same occasion! Storytellers do this all the time. As long as you're not changing the essence of what was said by adding or omitting key details or context, then it's just about wrapping the story like a gift so other people can receive it. i honestly respect that you took the time to respond, it gives you time to deliver a more meaningful and fleshed out response. It's honestly ridiculous that you're having to explain basic comedy writing for people who are deliberately missing the point.

Or, it's very odd that he's spending this much effort to debunk claims that he previously admitted were true. Protesting his exposure as a liar isn't going to get him back in the running for The Daily Show.

It's crazy how The New Yorker reporter Clare Malone clearly twisted his words to make it seem like a muslim wasn't "actually" affected by racism, just because the racist event happened a few days before he said it happened (which she "forgot" to include in her flashy clickbait article). What an evil woman with a horrible agenda.

Deserved criticism tbh. He says he feels bad for people that are affected by his comedy, yet he’s so quick to use racism to propagate his comedy. Yeah, fake racism was definitely abused. And for the sake of comedy, tbh, it’s fine. You just gotta own up to it as creative means of humor, as a lot of comedians typically do.

Hasan- you are a gifted storyteller. You give us hard and painful truths wrapped in a giggle. Those painful truths are hard to swallow, traumatic to carry, and difficult to talk about. Your gift is making those painful truths easier for us to carry together, to talk about together, and hopefully someday work through together. YOU are a special type of healer/therapist that helps us cope with societal trauma. THANK YOU!!! Much Love and Respect for you and the gifts you share with us!!!

Meanwhile our congressional overview of a character for the purpose of granting him the highest legal authority of the land for life just "takes his word for it." A white man can just say "I don't recall" while a brown one brings receipts that end up under the rug.

The fact that you would go to these lengths to explain your process to explain your intention speaks to who you are, your integrity and your sense of compassion/responsibility. Comedy is story telling…anyone who appreciates the art understands that elements are sewn together to keep the audience engaged. It’s been done for decades. I’ve seen you live twice and have watched every bit of content you’ve created. Don’t let this rock you. Your voice, your story telling and your education is needed. I hate that this happened.
