Joe, thank you very much for this video. I just got my Rode Wireless Pro and will be setting it up with my Sony ZV-E10, so this video is just perfect for my needs. Thanks for all the content you post and for sharing your gifts and talents with us.

I know you said "just go over all these settings" but the manual piece of setting up -6db is pretty important so people should be aware of that first, before @4:29

What if I don't use mirrorless camera, what preset should I use? I record mainly on Iphone 14 pro max and my Rode Wireless Pro recordings are too damn low. firmware update is right but, when I open Filmic Pro, I can clearly see my level is set to max but, unless I swallow the mic, the monitoring maxes out around the green bar, it's not even reaching the yellow or the red. Do you have an idea what could be wrong?I've tried Merge & split, gain assist etc nothing seem to work.

IMO I would adjust the gain on the receiver and not the Camera! Set it to 1 to make sure that you're not relying on the camera's pre-amps and you're getting the most ouf ot the mics! Setting the camera audio above 1 raises the noise floor. That's the reason they say 1 for Sony cameras.

Hi, thanks for sharing. Much appreciated. I have question, if you set your camera to 2 for example is it possible to increase the gain on the receiver until you get the levels you need in camera ie. between -12 and -3db? I am considering upgrading my Wireless Go II's to the Pros, as I am guessing the above method would be possible without introducing any white noise. With the Go II the maximum I can set the gain to is 9db (-3db max) before white noise becomes a problem and on the camera the limit is about 5.

Great Video but wanted to know how to set the time and date. I can't find it anywhere. My recordings all have year 2000 dates.

Dont put sonys to 1, correct is 3, there is a software limiter active on 1

Is this stated in the manual? If not, can you drop a link to where this information is stated?

I also noticed that they were too low. I think it's better to raise the gain in the transmitter, and leave the levels in the camera as low as possible.

Thanks for this. My Wireless Pros seem to have a lot of noise. Have you experienced on-board regarding to be very noisy?

make sure you're turning down the gain in the camera, i don't recommend to do what he does and turn that up in camera to get his levels right, that's going to introduce a lot of noise and his because the preamps in the camera. that's why they recommend to turn it down in camera, there should be dB adjustments in the rode video mic pro for this.

@@johnatwar thanks but I’m talking about the receiver/recorder themselves being very noisy, even at baseline and no gain.

Hi! In post I noticed that there is no sound playing in the video. It sounds like my mic isn't on. Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot that? I'm afraid to record if there won't be any sound

Hi, maybe you already solved your issue, but did you happen to be using one of the lav mics when this happened? I had this issue when using the lav mic the first time. It turned out it wasn't screwed into the TX all the way. The way the instructions are written is misleading as they instruct you to turn the gold screw in the wrong direction. Maybe this wasn't your issue. In any case, I hope you figured it out.
