Once I become a year 12 captain: $400-500k. Senior captains who work a few extra premium paid trips: $700k. Way easier job. Way more fun. Hey I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. He is the ONLY way to heaven and He loves you all. Please think deeply about this with urgency because this is your eternal life and soul, you don’t know when you could die, meaning you could die at any moment, so please consider this with all your heart. @@LeftBehind666 you are retired at age 25? You already have enough money to last you for the next 65 years? Regardless, you invest a portion of your income while you are working so that the money can grow and eventually exceed how much you put into it. Then when you retire, you can stop working and sell your investments to live off of. So no, you don’t generally invest more money in retirement since you have no income. You are doing the opposite and selling investments. Hopefully your investment portfolio is large enough that you can sell about 4% each year. Doing this you will be unlikely to run out of money.

I was being underpaid similarly (3 YOE) but I wasn't working in a city and got to work full time remote for ~2 years so there was some positives. Was trying to leave in the last year anyways but the job market was (and still kinda is) trash. I fully recommend trying to apply now and at least get the voice out. The worst thing to do is stay loyal to a company (no matter how nice they project themselves to be) especially when they underpay you and make excuses not to raise your salary.

I'm currently self teaching w/ in-depth tutorials about python to start getting into software engineering and my friend never really went into depth about much besides his salary being 100k with the company he's been at for a bit. So this gives me a really great perspective on expenses with salary rather than a basic 9-5 retail job with hourly wages (iykyk). This kind of gives me hope for next year if I apply myself consistently to be financially more stable than what I am currently :)

I'm a senior full stack with 8+ years and I make less than 50k a year. That is because I'm remote and from South América. Even thought here the same role locally is around 24k per year. Damm I need to change gears 😂

Young fella…old man here also in software development for appx 25 years. That 3.5k you have left over, pls save at least 2k a month. Our industry is volatile and you will want that nice savings in times of leanness or when you get older and either want to start a family, and/or start a business. Try to save at least 100k+ and invest in some in solid stocks and index ETFs. Not fly by night long shots. And last thing, Make sure that you invest in your company’s 401(k) plan. If you don’t do anything else but invest up to the companies match, please do that that’s free money.

impressive details Im doing my software engineer degree and I'm pressuring myself every day to maintain a 3 GPA in the hope of getting either an easy job opportunity or an exceptional one. either way, I need to be prepared thanks for sharing this information a lot of people shy away from displaying their salary expenses, etc..

Software engineering looks difficult. I'm looking into this career path because I'm looking for a career change from working in the medical field for 18 years. I'm broke and have nothing to show for all my years of working in this field. I'm looking for a change. I'm just worried about all the negative videos I've seen on YT. I want to at least give it a try and deal with the headaches myself. I know that every job has its moments but in the medical field I just feel burnt out. Plus I would love to move back to NY and roommate with my brother.

Be careful with boxing! I did it for a year, got pretty good at it but noticed that my sleeping was off. Getting punched in the nose can have more long term effects! Boxing is loads of fun, but make sure you are fighting with people that aren't throwing haymakers.
