Yeah I agree man, There was a time when I would buy an item for $5 and it was only a $15 item. I'm still looking at those items two years later lol. I'm going to be more selective about sourcing this year.

I'm with you on that. In the beginning I would buy just about anything if I thought I could make a decent profit on it and figured over time I would get more selective about what I would source. Well, I am getting more selective now but I bought so much inventory during my "less selective" sourcing days, I feel like I'm *never* going to get it listed and move it all lol. And it's taking up a lot of real eatate. 😒

2023 was a worst year for my sells. I used to sell great without the eBay promotions. 2023 eBay kept pushing me to use the promote option which I find suspicious. An even when I do choose the promote option I'm getting very low watchers in a month which I find even more suspicious.

I'm really conflicted on how I feel about promoted listings. Sometimes it seems like only those are selling and other times I'm selling mostly non-promoted. Lately I've only been promoting the more common, run of the mill items and it seems like I'm selling an equal amount of both so I'm still no closer to figuring out whether they're really helping or I'm just helping line the pockets of feebay even more.

I'm trying this year to get 1 sale per day. Steady so far. I spreadsheet everything I pick up with cost and estimated value, sorting for what I am selling on eBay/Garage/Keep so I can justify the benefit of treasure hunting for our household stuff, and selling enough to cover my utilities. I try for $20> items, but accept offers on most, with free returns.

The key to making steady sales that I have found is sourcing items with a decent sell through rate. The minimum sell through rate that I target is 20%. I usually don’t pick up items less than that unless I can get them for dirt cheap. Anything under 10% and I won’t buy at any price.

I just changed my prices over to buffer for free shipping, made 80% of my listings free shipping, and ended and redid my small promotion. I finished doing that 3 hours ago. 9 sales, $200~ net since!

Oh wow, that's nice! I have always had free shipping on some items but not most. Maybe that's something I need to explore and I know some sellers say that's the way to go. Please keep me posted on how things work out. 👍

Question, you mentioned a global reset of your store. What is that or how can that be done.
@TrailerTrashFlips
4 ай бұрын
The "nuclear reset" just means ending and selling similar (not relist) of all the items in your store. I end 200 items at a time. First make sure that you don't have any ended listings and if you do, delete those so there's nothing left. On the active listing page, my listings are sorted to ending soonest so I take the 200 ending soonest and end those listings. Next I go to ended listings and check all 200 listings and select sell similar to list them as new listings. Check to make 100% sure your 200 listings are back live and then go back to your ended listings and delete the old listings there. Continue doing 200 at a time until you finish all your listings. Just be sure to clear out your ended listings after each round. It's really easy to do and takes me about 15 minutes to do around 800 items, you just don't want to be distracted while you're doing it. My organic impressions and page views go through the roof every time because ebay sees it as new listings so they get boosted in the algorithm.

Just wondering how many items you have listed. Your numbers are similar to mine. I have about 520

I'm down to around 780 right now. Usually I hover a little over 800 but haven't been listing much lately and with better sales my listeds are low.

88 x 44 is an 8 foot table and a pro 8 ft table is 46 x 92. a coin op table might be larger to cover than a regular non coin op. the guys Nutria is pretty rude If you ask me. he probably should have just done a search on his exact table and ordered by the INCH. I had a eBay op actually tell me, after looking at my over 24 year account and seeing I was a POWER seller back in the day and am now reduced to DOOK. that he would "Make Sure" that i was restored to my former glory. Like he could flip a switch. he was not joking, he was Lying but he was not joking. i kept the transcript for eBay to look at. zero response so far. just sayin.... they real funny.

That's crazy. To not be helpful is one thing but to flat out lie like that is complete BS, and even worse that ebay just ignores it. Of course after what they did to the Steiners it's not surprising.

Finally 9:37 someone is getting the picture. I am getting tired of all these videos claiming they know about ebay selling $10 dollars items or low value items. The amount of work you put into it and the returns or feedback problems is not worth it. This is why I do high value item basically with barely any investment into it. Either $50 unless small items and fast selling. mainly $100 dollar or more. On top of it you see those clowns bragging they know about eBay just because they have High Feedback selling items that are $10.00 and under. It is a joke really. I would avoid estate sales. They're all joke all eBay pricing mostly.

Good points. I mostly agree about the estate sales which is why I only go on 50% off days. There's less to pick from but they'll often make even better than 50% off deals to move things on the last day.

@@TrailerTrashFlips I am aware of the 50% or making deal point. Either way it is the left over items and plus they know the pricing and also item flucaate with price on eBay. The price is still high for return investment and for having something that sit around.

eBay has always been hard even 20 years ago, now the problem is increased shipping costs and its harder to sell a lot of items, even if you don't pay anything for them

I agree with you 💯! Shipping cost increases are a big factor when I price items, especially the cheaper ones.

Increased shipping costs, increased eBay fees, eBay policies that promote a race to the bottom on price, and a majority of the population is getting poorer and poorer year over year due to inflation. A perfect storm for sellers of non-essential items.
