We've got a new (well, new to me anyways) meter on the bench today, a Fluke 83 series III. I love my 83 original series and jumped at the chance to get this upgraded version, however it does have a minor issue that needs to be addressed.
There appears to be some odd staining under the polarizer film on the LCD. I have no idea how it got there, but it's a fairly straightforward repair so long as you are aware of a couple small traps along the way, which I unfortunately found the hard way.
Although I used the method to fix stains in this case, it can be used to fix crazing, which is a common issue with many meters, especially those exposed to UV light.
Scissors are definitely dangerous enough to warrant the safety stuff:
