He truly is. I've learned more from him and Simon Cade than I ever learned getting my bachelor's degree. I hope you are able to get out of your rut. I've been stuck in one for a while myself.

I've been trying to write a short animation (4 seconds to 1 minute) based on my graphic novel for my ad campaign. It seems writing for an existing universe with established lore can be more challenging than creating something entirely new. I've been struggling with this approach...

Loved the video. One quite observation. I think your background music is too loud. Also, it's kinda sad for a video that isn't sad. I would go back to the drawing board on the music choice. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the video. Just an opinion but the 'stolen present' idea is a little bit too complex. The opening could have been just the delivery (Amazon-type delivery) of a new guitar (my first guitar etc) for example. With any short story, economy of information in the setup is the key. Overall a 1 - 2 -1 type ratio between beginning, middle, and end - So, get in quick and exit quickly so you can spend time in the middle. So, in this case we see a guy receive a guitar, struggle all night to play it against the clock, to reveal he has learnt Happy Birthday to play to his child...who then picks up her present, which is a new guitar too.

I am sure that your movie is going to be great but I wonder whether a one minute movie might not be better executed if you maintained the "unity of time" - so it's akin, almost to a monologue or a joke a tale with punchline that simply takes place in real time. And sure , I can imagine a cut suggesting a time break but shooting a story that takes place over say, 12 hours or longer in the space of a minute would seem to me to to refuse to take advantage of the restricted time you are giving yourself for the story to unravel. I could also imagine BEGINNING the movie when you play "happy birthday" and your daughter expressing surprise because you can't play guitar and you tell her that the music fairies taught you while she was sleeping and as you leave the room you tell your wife that you are exhausted . You got no sleep because you had to learn that tune because the doll you bought her was stolen or you left it at work...
