Always feels good to have new gauges 😊. You could practice on your home air conditioning you could use the temperature sensors to practice on your home refrigerator. See what the temperature of the different lines coming off of your refrigerator motor are going into the condenser coming out of the condenser You could use the clamp on refrigerant gages what’s the temperature of the cold water line going into your water heater what’s the temperature of your hot water line coming out of your hot water heater.

Will definitely do the water heater and refrigerator lab sim. As for my condenser i don’t want to risk anything as I have some pretty bad luck haha last thing I want is to accidentally rip out a shrader.I use my gauges pretty much Monday 10am-11:30am-Thursday but typically my analog. I need to test the SMANS but don’t want to feel like the douche with digitals but I might as well.

How do you typically connect your gauges on a straight A/C system? Or really just anything non heat pump. I can do it without thinking but trying to type the process I’ve been taught might be weird. Connect suction hose>crack suction valve>purge at suction manifold> purge at service valve>crack hi side valve purge at low loss fitting on high side hose> connect to liquid line close suction and liquid valve at gauge

@@EastDallasKicks you don’t want to connect your hose yo your house ac because every time you remove a little refrigerant from your system in the hoses.

@@EastDallasKicks you need to learn the noninvasive method. That is testing without connect refrigerant hose. Just using temperature. Download and learn to use measureQuick non-invasive testing.

I just picked one of these up, but it's a little rougher and doesn't come with the thermocouple clamps. It was 80 at a pawn shop

Not bad. When you close the hoses does it read a sat temp?

Send it back to fieldpiece don’t they replace it with a new sman model for like 200$? Check their website for the models repair cost.

Y’all got any knowledge for me? Doesn’t have to pertain to gauges but also how do you purge a 4 port manifold?

I use vacuum sometimes, sometimes refrigerant from the unit if I’m recovering refrigerant. I need to show this in a video.

So, it was a used set? $205 was a steal. I can't find a quality set anywhere near that price.

Yeah used in good condition. I see a seller that has multiple pairs and they’re selling for around 135$ I can send the link but they might be in worse condition.

@@dvcavall functionality should be the same. The 360 lacks a pressure decay test. If you need a micron gauge just make sure the sman 3 has them.
