Oh I really hate when I go to dig in the dirt and the earth starts moving. Ants creep me out more than any of the other pest in the garden. I did a cut back a few days ago and need to do some more. You did a great job clearing the path while still making it look full.

It's crazy how we have to be afraid of ants!! 😅 That's not the case everywhere, and I have often wondered what the purpose of fire ants is in the world lol. I appreciate your message. Have a great evening!

Hey Nicole, The secret garden cleaned up very well. Wondering if those elephant ears cut leafs, can be put into a vase and rooted? They were so cool and extra large❣️❣️❣️
@mycarolinagarden

Great question on the elephant ears. I've never rooted them in water because they multiply so easily in the ground. I dint have to dig them up once winter, but maybe I'll take a grouping into the greenhouse to see how big they can get overwintering 😃💚

Hi Lady! You're so right about those pesky ant bites! I just got stung by a brown hornet! Dang it hurts! I recently switched from the ant bait you use to Ortho Orthene. It works in about half hour. Give it a try when you're ready for a refill. Be warned! It really stinks! Thanks for sharing!
@mycarolinagarden

Oh gosh! If we're not working on fighting the weather, we're fighting bugs or pests! Are we tired yet? 😅 Thanks for the ant bait recommendation - I'll definitely use it!

You know in a way it’s a nice problem to have a garden area or path flourish well like yours did. Too bad the path could not be a little wider & the grow area along fence a little wider but it’s still pretty amazing. I’ve had of the same issues with one of my paths with Coleous growing over the path and other plants leaning in & had to do similiar tasks.
@mycarolinagarden

@wesleyhackney yes, definitely not a terrible problem to have at all. I find some spillage of growth onto garden pathways beautiful, but complete blockage, no thanks 😅 I admire people who grow large, beautiful coleus.

Hi Nicole! I also live in coastal NC. Please tell me how/if you heat your greenhouse! Mine stays the same temp as the outside. I would just love to load it up in the winter but just over winter everything in our shed which is warmer. Love your vids!
@mycarolinagarden
13 күн бұрын
Hi! Great question - I do heat my greenhouse, and in the simplest way possible. I use an oscillating ceramic heater that is set to turn on when the temp drops below 60 (I wish I could set it to lower than that, but that's it's only option.) This means I use it mainly in Jan and Feb, and I may turn it on at 10pm and turn it off at 5am (as soon as the sun comes up it gets hot in there quickly) instead of letting it turn on automatically. This has worked great for me for 2 seasons already, so I have no need to get more high tech at this point. Hope this helps!!
