Hey! I may do though to be honest, the last few pairs have not even been hemmed. I usually take an inch of when hemming (well the shop does) and then i go from there. It also determines if i do two or three cuffs. It is also very personal I think so anything I say or show will be just my tastes.

Hi man, first thing I would say is the sizes differ by brands. So if buying online 100% measure something you have against the brands measurement table. Also, I personally go for jeans with 'One wash' as most of the shrinkage has already been taken care of. Height i am about 6ft and 79kg. Best of luck! You're on to a good thing!

I cannot find a pair of Iron Heart jeans that is slim tapered but also mid/high rise. All their slim tapered seem to be low rise. In general, I shy away from all the low rise jeans because they just crush my nuts when I sit and are generally really uncomfortable, but I especially avoid them in the heavier denim that Iron Heart uses. Real shame they don’t have this combination. I’m forced to go with a baggy pair of 888s just to get the mid/high rise that I want.

No idea what selvedged was, but it seems to be coming from self-edged, which comes from Dutch "Zelfkant". Which is either a side of fabric, or ghetto people.... But with jeans, you probably only see the self-edge on the inside. Suggestion: put less crap in your pockets, they ruin the looks. Especially phones shall not be worn in jeans!

There are two reasons why this is happening. Here are the reasons: (1) pocket placements (2) mid-rise is treated like a low-rise. When you observe women's fashion, you'll see jackets are tailored in a more cropped manner, which is an extremely flattering appearance, because it's aesthetically pleasing, as cropped top mostly elongates legs, aas it makes your bum more pronounced and it also makes you appear taller. With men's jackets, it's a different story. Due to mass production, jackets are deliberately made longer for those to fit as many people as possible. A good example would be a denim jacket with a back lenght of 25 inches, which is made to fit both 5'10 guys so as 6' guys. However, only six feet guy can wear it in an aesthetically pleasing manner, as a shorter guy needs 2 inches more crop. On the other hand, a 6' person needs to starve himself to fit in, so both can pull it off while it fits neither (that's why I only wear MTM and the tailor is my friend ). Due to the jackets being longer, some brands are placing pockets lower on the jeans to maintain constant with the proportions of the longer top (otherwise jacket covers half of your back poc, which isn't so flattering) . The second reason lies in the fact that men are treating medium-rise jeans as low-rise jeans. The rise of the pants is the depth of the crotch. High-rise pants end above your belly button, mid-rise ends slightly below your belly button [your natural waist), while low-rise jeans end at halfway of One's hip--bones. The lower the rise, the better your bum will look (if the jeans are tailored), but the shorter your legs will seem, and cv. However, I digressed. What ends up happening is the fact that some guys treat mid-rise as low-rise jeans, as most guys are wearing their shirts in a casual manner (tucked out), so they don't use the belt; as they don't use the belt, and most jeans are slightly too large to remain standing on a natural waist throughout the day, those fall on a non--natural waistline (hipbones), which creates gluteless look due to excess of fabric, as those jeans aren't meant to be worn in a given manner. This also can happen due to the fact that jeans are designed to create a sagging without actually pulling your pants down (hip hop flare), and some of the jeans can also be too big, but neither of the three is the case here.
@mrcdufay

Agreed. Appears to be a case of loving the material / label, without considering cut / fit. I'm lucky to live in city with a great shop devoted only to quality denim with an experienced staff. Last time I went, the sales assistant helped me for close to an hour to find the labels that fit me best, and I have a very standard body type. And if you can't find a shop with experienced staff, at least take someone who can give an honest opinion on how your a** looks in the jeans.

I admire the ‘ Jeansters’ enthusiasm and appreciation of different cloths . But it’s like watch enthusiasm. At a distance or in a dark nightclub, who cares ? They all look the same . That little bit of turn up to show a selvedge. Who cares ? The fact someone wears an Omega for $ 5000 vs a much better looking and accurate Bulova for $ 750 . Who cares? Unless you showed the differences in front of peoples faces. In short, if you are obese and look like a slob , you won’t look good in any jeans at all .
