Side note for the girl her family is very extreme they disowned one of there kids for coming out gay. So I can feel for her a little bit. I'm not so sure. I'm not a legal expert but if OP choose to go down this route he may well have a pretty good case to make for a slander/defamation lawsuit. Even with the high bar requirements the US for such cases it would seem OP has good evidence that the step-father maliciously lied about OP, which should clear the bar. If so, I say OP should sue and take step-father to the cleaners.

I feel like there is probably more to the ex sfs plans than just the “evidence”. Like making comments here and there to plant seeds of doubt in their minds. Like maybe things like “I bet he’s really popular with the ladies. He better not cheat” or stuff of the sort to push the narrative he was going for. That way when the “evidence” is released, any potential doubts are replaced by acceptance as fact.

Honestly, I think people need to realize that there's no right or wrong answer when it comes to taking back an ex or letting people back into your life in a situation like this. He had his life stolen from him, and he's being offered basically all of it back on a god damn silver platter. Everyone involved (except the step dad obviously) is doing everything in their power to fix what was broken. The story doesn't need to end in resentment, the story doesn't need to end in distant forgiveness. This experience broke everyone involved, and it's their choice if they want to pick up the pieces together or on their own. I just hope that they all know that though the relationship can be mended, it will never be the same. But that doesn't mean it can't be just as good. You can forgive. You can move past this incident. It doesn't have to be a looming specter for the rest of your life.

The thing is, if your relationship is strong the things he was accused of really hurt. It is also very easy to get your mind swayed by someone that is by you while the person that is accused isn’t there to defend himself. You have to realize people are just that, people. Although the Mom should have never and I say never stopped contacting OP. This just proves she was weak. If you have a child you have to be ready that they will make mistakes, bigger or smaller. It’s still your child, you are their safe place. What I’m about to say goes to almost every relationship (or atleast this is my opinion), squares up in your circle will always fuck up the shape of it. Food for thought. If you believed someone was trustworthy atleast hear them out. Let them take the stand.

Your mom is not close to you. She literally abandoned "her only rock" the minute she got married. Didnt protect you, let a man immediately come between her relationship with you without questioning it even though she raised you. She then proceeded to kick you out of the house and let you financially support yourself while helping her new husbands son (Which isnt his fault he seems like a good kid considering he came from that man). The only person that gets forgiveness is thevbrother but the mom burned that bridge with her own two hands.

While I really liked how the bro and uncle stepped up for op, idk that I would’ve ever forgiven the fiancée if it was me. If you’re planning to marry someone, you should know their core and their moral code. If she jumped so quickly to believing a stranger over the man she was going to marry, she should’ve been getting counselling not planning a marriage. Not to say that people can’t lie so well they pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. But if you’re going to marry someone, shouldn’t you trust them a little more?

Almost all mother's have unconditional love for their children. They may correct them on their mistakes or be disappointed, but certainly wouldn't disavow them for it, bar something truly heinous like murder. The son claimed he was being framed, but even if the mother didn't believe him, kick him out and cut him off for what? Cheating? On a woman that wasn't even part of the family?
