I just found your channel today and I really enjoy the content. I've been a constant reader since I found the drawing of the three on a teachers bookshelf in the 6th grade. I have all his books in hard back and lots of 1st editions. I'm excited to see what all you have in your collection. I've already learned a few things from you about some of the books on my shelf in terms of date published. Thank you for the great content.

Great video and great ranking! Just got back into reading King after a 4months hiatus. I started the journey to the Tower for the first time and am currently reading The Drawing of the Three. Not sure yet whether to add in some books (extended Tower reading).

I would do the main series first, including Wind Through the Keyhole after Wizard and Glass. And then branch out to the related works after you are done. It's a fascinating universe to explore!

I sure can! Thanks for the suggestion! I've got that on my list since I'm currently in You Like It Darker, to dive into the collections after this.

I'm now revisiting Stephen King's bibliography after a 20 year pause and I really enjoy watching all kinds of videos on this channel. I mostly agree with your list except for Carrie. I've read it in my teenage years and I've read it recently in my mid thirties and I haven't enjoyed it neither then, nor now. Maybe it is that Carrie's mother annoyed me so much or that most of the characters are just not very good people to say the least, I don't know. However, I'd say there still are characters to sympathize like Sue Snell and the gym class teacher. Anyway, despite being his classic novel it is one of my least favorite SK's book. Also, your praise towards The Shining makes me wanting to revisit it asap, but I'm currently in the process of re-reading The Stand (another great novel), so that will have to wait.

Thanks for the comment! I fully admit that Carrie isn't a "great work of literature" - I think it holds an outsized influence to me because I saw the movie when I was a little kid and was traumatized by it. It sort of gave me a weird obsession with the story, so by now I have read it multiple times. My approach to the novel is based on my own odd experiences! I hope you enjoy your reread of The Shining! It really holds up, in my opinion.

Your list is an interesting take. I would have ranked Night Shift higher and Carrie lower I think. You were right in your overview of Carrie having sprinkles of news stories and tickers and all. That to me just brought me out of the story and sort of ruined the mood I guess. I have not read the original Stand. I will have to put it on my list. It is interesting but I saw the movie the Shining years ago and absolutely hated it because of the female character being totally irritating and whining constantly. So I skipped the book for years. I went back a couple of years ago and read the book and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yeah I would re-read night shift over Carrie as well haha you're definitely not alone!!! Also I would place Salem's lot over Carrie as well but I'll leave it at that, they're all good books.
