I tried it last year, got my LLC, and had my own business for about 6 months. I had never been more depressed in my life! Knowing I had to go on social media to sell myself was something I LOATHED! Knowing my income depended on that was daunting. I am back in a “9-5” that I love, doing work I enjoy for a company who values me, and I can work from home and make my own schedule. It’s perfect! When you’re an entrepreneur you are working 24/7, it’s a mind fuck. Very hard to turn work OFF - work becomes your life, your identity. It was definitely NOT for me!

Hey! I’m excited to see your excitement for making videos on this topic!! I can’t wait to hear more ❤️ I have a question, and it’s a bit different than the questions you asked for but I’ve been feeling called to ask the past couple days. I was asked to move out of my aunts home with my little one and I have a month before she’d like me to go. One of the places I am interested in is Austin. I’m wondering if you know anyone looking for a roommate or looking to move into a new home with roommates? I’m not going to add more details about myself, but I’m more than happy to if that would be helpful 🥰🙏🏼 Sending love to you and your family! 🌱💚

Hi loove! Oh wow, this is so exciting! I wholeheartedly recommend Austin! I don't know of anyone looking at the moment. I believe there is a group on FB that's something like "ATX Housing" or "ATX Roommates" or something like that that some friends have enjoyed using! All the best to you!!

I love this! I really had my heart set on working for myself when I was in a job I didn't like and assumed they would all be like that. I ended up joining an MLM, which I didn't even know much about and then wasted a lot of time down that road and it really hit my self-esteem! Lessons learned, I ended up getting a job that I like a lot more with better hours. On the side, I have begun earning some income without these so called 'get rich quick' MLM schemes and I am amazed at how much easier and more enjoyable it is. I love having an Etsy store and making videos. One day I hope to increase the number of income streams I have and in time I want to build an air BnB in my garden... like a tiny house and also to run meditation classes and sound baths from home.. But... one step at a time! Anyway, I want to know how you work efficiently in your business? How do you make the decisions of what is best for your business so as not to waste time on things that won't serve it?

Interesting to see how the health centre job was such a stepping stone for what followed:) I would love to hear more about your balance between active and passive income, and using money now vs. investing for the future - for me the feeling of freedom comes from knowing that you have something to fall back on, even when you are not investing your time for a moment or period of time. Another aspect is that financial freedom often seems to be about making more money so that you do not have to trade your time, but if you are good to live from a backback with almost no expenses, how much does the amount still matter to you? Are you focused on making more money, or is it mostly about creating your own hours, and will you adjust your lifestyle to whatever amount you have?

I am working towards financial freedom as I just have a little bit of my student loans left. I have a govt job that has provided everything, steady/good income, top notch medical insurance for me, wife and kid, and great retirement benefits and pension. Luckily the field I am in i really enjoy. I think it's all about balance, my 20s I was this "chase your passion/travel the world/head in the clouds" person with unrealistic expectation of life because of social media/youtubers. Once I came back into reality in my late 20s and now in my 30s, I'm thankful i realized you need to work and find a career that provides a comfortable life for you and your family along with meeting your responsibilities as a good human, father, husband. I think balance is key, live in the now, but also prepare for the future. If you dont then you are playing yourself.

Sounds like you are nice and safe and predictable. Hopefully that government job didn't force you to assist in the coup against our rightful President. By the way, you've come to the right place with that mentality. 🙄

@@lemurianchick I am trying to change the culture here, you dont know my journey or me. Yeah I said it, our govt is corrupt at every single level and of you think the election wasnt rigged you are blind and unwilling to see reality. I'm trying to change things where I am and work very hard, it's gotten me in hot water, but I fight. Btw, what's wrong with someone providing a good life for their family? I've lived on the streets long ago. You seem like a joy to be around.

@@Mc.flyyy11 Who says that Brittany doesn't provide a good life for her family? I can appreciate that homelessness is traumatic but re-read your post. It sounded pretty damn patronizing, as if you're living in "reality" schooling a dreamer.

When I was first looking at your backpacking videos at 15, I didn’t know that liberation was what I was looking for. But you (and Conor) sharing your journey showed me possibilities that I couldn’t dream of, growing up in a place with so little economic opportunity. I’m sure I never would have dared to travel 1000 miles away for college, or see two different countries in that time. Now I’m the first in my family to graduate from college, just a few days ago we had our ceremony online, and I wanted to say thank you for being so fucking brave and curious and inspiring me to follow my own bravery and curiosity. Seeing alternatives being lived by real people is so powerful for young people. You’ve impacted my life, and I’m sure many others! I hope you get to do what you love for a long time :)

Hi Brittany 😊 I think you may have hinted at this in your video here but I wanted to highlight it because it's something I struggle with. I have the desire to be an author and possibly have my own business someday supporting clients similar to the way you do. But sales, marketing, and self-promotion feel like a big turn off to me. I want to engage with an audience in a way that feels beautiful and authentic. I also don't personally feel motivated to buy when people are promoting something in the traditional sense. I feel much more motivated to buy from someone like you because you're not doing anything that feels forced or pushy. Do you think education around sales, marketing, and self-promotion is important or is it enough to just be authentically sharing your truth with the world trusting that the money will flow?

Hi Brittany! This really resonates with me. There’s not a job I want. I’ve always been a creative and I have so many talents that I kinda keep to myself . I go through periods of confidence then I also have self doubt sometimes. The reality is I just want to create. I want to just enjoy life. I’m currently car lifeing it in my little focus. And honestly I have so much more peace than traditional living. But some days I miss out on enjoyment by focusing on “my next steps” that I don’t fully live tge life I want. I’m going to work on that. I don’t want much as far as tangible items. Thank you for being who you are and sharing✨
