I met this semi-homeless man named Jackie Chiles in downtown Nashville the other day when I was going to try to film a coffee shop vlog. He wanted to talk with me and tell me his story. I love hearing people's stories and it's hard for me to go away from them. So I listened for well over an hour to this man, and at the end of talking he asked me for some money... should I give it to him or not? Is it stupid of me if I do give it to him? Is it always wrong to give money to people on the streets who are struggling? Is there such a thing as being too generous? Is there such a thing as being too stingy? Am I too hardened and reserved? Does my heart lack compassion? I address some of these thoughts in the video because it's something I struggle with.
Tell me your story and if you struggle with generosity or if you've had a similar experience.
