I don't get the go get that thing. I don't hear the difference. Can you kindly explain it to me?

Hi, a person's dialect can be confusing during dictation. People who speak with a southern accent often say things differently than a northern accent, and when trying to do an auditory exercise with a student, how you pronounce something can make a difference in how they hear it, and then write it.
