According to the 2016 Residential End Uses of Water Study, showers are tied with faucets as the second largest use of water at 11.1 gallons used per capita per day, or 19 percent of an individual's total use. The average American shower uses approximately 15.8 gallons (59.8 liters) and lasts for 7.8 minutes at an average flow rate of 2.1 gallons per minute (7.9 lpm). Considering that this video portray a 5 minute consistent flow of water from an average household shower head, this political statement cost the world 10.5 gallons of clean water.

Currently 15 states have signed on to an agreement to use their EC votes on whoever wins the popular vote, effectively overriding the EC. This agreement doesn’t come online until enough states have signed on that they have a majority of the EC votes however. If you live in a state that hasn’t done this yet, contact your representatives and try to convince them!
@grilleFire

@@magmafalcon7593 No, Why should people in CA & NY decide how the rest of the states live? Have you been to those states? total garbage as of late..
@magmafalcon7593

helio A lot of people look at it that way, but that’s not realistically how the popular vote works. If we just follow the popular vote, that means that everyone in the country has an equal vote. With the EC system, people in swing states like Florida, and people in small states like Connecticut have a more important vote than people in populous states like Texas and Cali. I personally feel it is unfair that some people matter less than others when it comes to voting just based off of where they live. If you live in a completely red or blue state, your vote rarely matters. Not to say you shouldn’t still vote though.
@davidroddini1512
3 жыл бұрын
I believe that the electoral college is important for the same reason congress has two houses. It is a compromise to allow somewhat representative distribution of votes while at the same time allowing smaller states some chance of having their voices heard instead of a couple of large states deciding everything. What we need is to figure out how to fix the system so that 3rd party candidates stand a chance. Due to the election laws in Ohio for instance, 3rd parties can’t realistically even get on the ballot. Ohio is officially a 2 party state. Overhauling the system to give 3rd parties a fighting chance would go a LONG way.
@magmafalcon7593
3 жыл бұрын
David Roddini David Roddini I definitely agree with the sentiment, but I also find it hard to justify to myself that people in smaller states (me included), have more voting pressure than people in larger states. I 100% agree with you about reconfiguring the system with ranked choice voting or some other system to allow third parties to be a viable choice. I personally like the French election system, but I’m sure it has some flaws as I haven’t put in too much research to learn its intricacies.
