It's well worth the money. Large corporations spend much more on product development than what 4 days and $4-5000 will share. Unlike some of our customers, the daily hone builder will not be spending the money on custom cams or head porting. ERIC is right with the dot to dot installation. 90% of those building an engine won't be getting Into the fine details. That just want to buy,install, and run it. And I don't blame them. For approximately 100hp different, saving some cash is more important. Dollar per power. That's why it's so important for companies to make a good product from the start. Making products to cover a wide variety of parts to fit needs without the custom work. There are 30 years of publications covering cams for the l.s. platform. As you said...many are to sell a product. Not to achieve the maximum performance. Good luck to you...

Regarding the video work, people never believe how much time it eats up. A 15 minute job to upgrade the clutch on a little 125cc single took me about 45 minutes to complete the work. I have seen some performance guru’s saying these new LS you cannot do tight lobe separation due to knock sensor telling computer it is detonating or has a miss. Any truth to that? I sure they are talking about in street car. Vs engine on a dyno. This is great thing you guys are doing. I’m a gen2 hemi guy so no cat in this fight 😂. I know back in the 90’s I worked with a guy in nc that we swapped his mushroom cam out of his petty built hemi. For a hyd roller and the car slowed down a bunch in the quarter

Street and "Street-strip" good move My problem is that the compression, carb, and intake do not really fit the Street (depending on what street is) with the OTB heads which are better than stock for street? I posted somewhere about the problem running a speed shop and having a customer come in putting a motor together with this combination and wanting a cam. Street -strip would be easier but fuel?

@@PowellCams I was watching your new video when this came through I called my grinder but evidently not enough time to crank one out You can guess who I called I would not have used a flat flank grind as I can get easier and quicker initial action with an inverse radius profile )lifter goes more up and less side pressure) so I would not be tempted to build a kill shot cam. I can get a seeat timing several degrees less seat timing.which is why i thought I would have a problem 91 I could also shorten up a couple of degrees with 1.8 rockers I I disagree with Eric that the pushrods are adequate.but rules are rules, so a conservative lobe as I said above Last cam I donated was for a circle track 340 dodge with W2 heads I need to call and see how he's doing this season all the best

I very curious to see how you do ... I am assuming you did not push ramp speed past what will live long term ...... The only thing I am thinking might happen with this challenge is that a lot of them will be about the same max power as what he has already run ... Hp and TQ per cid is already pretty high and I truly believe that the engine is now choked by carburetor size which will cap peak HP ....
@PowellCams
7 күн бұрын
Na, it's choked by cyl head, the heads are 50cfm down
@scotthatch4548
7 күн бұрын
@@PowellCams interesting that you think the heads should flow 400 cfm ..... But it can't be head flow because the second camshaft he tried should have gained 4% in power and made over 700 HP but it did not ... If it's head flow stoping it then more duration and a later closing point would add peak power since it did not the restriction has to be the carb size ... If I am correct highest peak numbers will fall within a few HP of what he has already made .... It will be interesting to see what happens
