I agree with you trying to get in early and investing thinking that buying a plot of virtual land is super risky. I think the best thing to look at in the situation is history. There were a lot of people who lost money trying to invest into the internet when it came about. Yes there were a lot of people that made a fortune but there plenty that didn’t. Most likely there will be a platform that enough people are on for some DJs to legitimately make a living but it will probably come down the road. It’s not like DJs are live-streaming on their own website today. They are on twitch. Until the platform/ model for DJs to be successful has been created it doesn’t make sense to invest. I still think bars and clubs will be a thing. The meta verse whatever that turns out to really look like will sit along side bars and clubs just like twitch does today.

The metaverse for DJs will more than likely be the replacement for twitch at some point but not in person DJaying

Post pandemic there needs to be a push for in-person interaction. Venues with music events that cater for different ages and music types if possible as covid, streaming services/social media have taken their toll on socialising. Slow, progressive steps too.

I'm almost 60. Been a Dj for 44 years. I love playing in front of live people. When I was single, having girls come flirt with me was the biggest perk of the gig. Dudes giving me high fives an buying me drinks. I can't get with this virtual world as a means for a social life. Fortunately for the Metaverse there's an extreme amount of lazy ass people to fill it up. People who rather watch other people do things for the rest of their lives. I have people who want me to invest in crypto and NFTs. I get it, but don't want it. After all these years, the Universe is still interesting and where I want to be.

Metaverse doesn't exist yet. It's a universe of universes. That requires avatars and items to be able to move between games/apps, and for those to be universe games/apps then they need very large player counts. These advertised metaverse apps are definitely looking low effort(trash). Far to low to do any clubs that people would actually want to go to outside of lockdown. There are DJ's in VR, but it tends to be twitching streaming DJ's with Patreon. Very few have good VR(Valve/HTC Vive) with full body to dance in there, and only a few of them can actually dance. Also none of the games/apps can get a lot of people in for a proper club. Preferably it would be some people who can dance and those that tip well, that will probably be socially awkward and drunk just to be around people in VR without having a nervous breakdown. There is a metaverse project called Neos VR that has the best code base, with great body and face tracking. That is what people who can actually dance, use. They still don't have monetization in and it is only a 5 person dev team, so work is going slow. However getting big clubs will require server meshing and that is hard a F***, to code. That Star Citizen MMO that has raised $440,741,663 since 2013, still doesn't have server meshing working, and that is needed. Also there needs to be code for dance clubs, as lag can make everybody dance off to the beat. Latency needs to be calculated for the music getting to them and their body movements to arrive back at the server at the same time. That is the music needs to be buffered and streamed with a time offset based on their ping or it will look like a club at an old folks home in Montana after they got their meds, as in nobody got rhythm at all. Dancing in Neos kzitem.info/news/bejne/1pBm2Wt7hZiTeqw Dancing in VRChat(more glitches and poor body tracking) kzitem.info/news/bejne/yICFm5yrg3uqlY4 DJ in VR. kzitem.info/news/bejne/wKum3aOhnnybg3Y There are reasons people will go to virtual clubs outside of a lockdown. People in relationships and their partner doesn't care because they aren't actually at a club. Also people who weren't willing to settle and left the club alone, but are not sleepy. A lot of times woman have much higher standards than then what they are putting on the table, and for the most part those are the fine ones that do VR. Yes they are fine, but they want that 0.001%, that they can't get, but aren't hearing that. Then there are the girls in there who know there are people making 6 figures in there, and they got that gold pick for some minecrafting a come up.

Nice one Keo. That said, don't think these lockdowns won't come again. I'm enjoying the 'freedom' we have now but lockdowns and all that will be law as proposed by the EU and the WHO. Still, optimistic and hopeful and finding creative solutions now will benefit you later. Even if it's a drastic change. (Such shorrible things like Metaverse). Cheers from Holland.

@@DJKeo Yes. Like many places in the world. Though here clubbing to 01:00 in the morning and above 500 people requires testing. It's a relative normal where most mandates are gone. Yet... In May all health ministers will sign a new EU law to have us all back in lockdown again whenever they wish so. It will then come in effect next October. Effectively: it surpasses all other laws (including human rights) of all nation states. I'm afraid we're only at the beginning. As I said: enjoying the relative ease for now, having gigs - even abroad - but preparing for what might come. Mentally and creatively.

@@Lemon8 This upsets me so much, the people making these policies don't care how its hurting businesses or peoples mental health. And it doesn't even matter that none of this stuff they are forcing even worked but they are doing it anyway. I was hoping last year that around now would be safe to travel again to Europe but it looks like this is not going away for a long time because of politicians.

@@DJKeo Yes that is correct. They don't care. Let's hope things will get better and let's stay sane and be thankful for everything we do have at this moment.
