I'm still really on the fence about David Day with how he fills in gaps Tolkien left himself without stating he does so. kind of weird imo Your colelction is amazing! The deluxe edition is something I'm really envious about, awesome!

1:43 is a perfect example as to why you should leave air gaps between your books. Thanks for the video. Nice collection.

Nothing to do with air, that's bleaching from direct light, probably sunlight.

If you are that into his works, I recommend one of his biographies that really gives insight into where his stories come from. The one I read that I really liked was "Tolkien and the Great War."

I'd recommend that you look out for the new hardback of The Complete Guide to Middle-earth by Robert Foster and illustrated by Ted Nasmith. Plus in November the Deluxe Silmarillion that matches your red LOTR looks to be a great book from the pictures.

try 'the atlas of middle earth' by karen wynn fonstad and 'the road to middle earth' by tom shippey... 'atlas' has amazing detail and info about maps and diagrams and battle formations...'road' is a collection of essays that provide insights and background to tolkiens themes...

I have that set of 4 middle right with the illustrations. Though I have yet to actually read through them yet when I get the time I am looking forward to experiencing it.

That's a great collection! That red hardback gave me some serious envy 🤣 One of my favourite stories, though my collection is just one hardback of the trilogy and the hobbit.

Just to let you know David days works are considered inaccurate and not recognized by Tolkien scholars as a trusted source for tolkiens work.

Hi Oracle, how do you compare the Tolkien Treasury set vs. Tales from the Perilious Realm hardback? Does the previous set have more illustrations?

We must find sanctuary in his works to wash away the infuriating insult that is the rings of power!
