Hi, just watched 2-3 videos - like the contents and the way delivered 👍 two things are missing for me (had a bad experience with both) : 1. touch screen sensitivity (how hard you need to hit the screen for something to work) 2. internet connectivity (integrated 4G modem with SIM vs plugging an external USB modem) I would like to see explanation on these topics in general as you experienced. Thanks 🙂

I appreciate the reviews and videos. Because of your videos I had purchased a Joying OEM unit for my old Rav4 which I loved. Unfortunately that car was totaled a week and a half ago and so was the unit. I am now trying to find something that will fit my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. While I do love the OEM look, my main concern is not losing the functionality of the dash (CD player, front and rear climate, etc). I reached out to T'eyes and am awaiting a response, Joying said they did not have an option for me, but I did find one through Seicane which they say that they have an OEM option that retains everything, but I have heard mixed reviews on their head units. I know you listed Seicane in your Top 10, so do you think they are worth a shot? Or, if going the T'eyes route, do they have options that would help retain the original functionality of my dash controls? Thanks again!

I had an Xtrons and it was a nice unit with a tilt external adjustable screen, but the screen would shake on bumpy roads which was distracting. Though the screen was large 10.1" the resolution was about was only 640x480 thus a bit blurry compared with other units that are double 1280x1020 (IPS OR OLED) or better resolution today. It would over heat and not turn on right away if direct sunlight was on the screen while parked outside on hot days until the air conditioning would cool it off a bit. The deal breaker with Xtrons is the wires on the harnesses were tiny and after adding amps and other things over a few years the tiny wires on the harnesses began to wear out and they're just too tiny for the average person to repair thus I ended up combining 2 channels because I lost one rear speaker wire (broke in half at the harness plug and too close to others to attempt repair) on the wiring harness. The better units have thicker gauge wiring that's not as delicate as Xtrons. My new unit has 8 Core CPU with 8Gb of memory and a 128 ROM storage space.

Awesome video!! Before I ask my question, let me just get the background explained quickly. I have a Volvo C30, it’s in the P1 group which includes the S40, V50 and C70. They all have the somewhat famous "waterfall" centre console. I am looking to install an Android head unit, but I'm new at this and trying to figure out what to get. I'm a mechanic, I'm confident that I can manage the physical installation. The biggest problem I'm facing is that I have automatic double climate control, and I need the temp settings to be displayed on the new head unit. All other information is either not nessesary to display (volume, fan speed), already on a different display (cruise control, door indicator), or is shown by little led indicator lights on the centre console (heated seats, automatic AC on/off, fan-blow direction etc.). I need an android head unit that can take input from the centre console control buttons and steeringwheel buttons for the menues and radio etc. I also want it to have its own sim, so that it can run (with internet) completely on its own. And it should be a crisp and quick 7" (double din). I mean, I have found a few options, but the only one that I know of that can display the climate control temp setting is the bluepower BLP-990 unit. However, this just overlays the old screen, which looks really (in my opinion), really bad. It kind of ruins the point of installing a new head unit. I also does not like how it is mounted, and I've read many mixed reviews on bluepower, mainly that their units are often faulty and their support/service is close to non existent. You seem to be an expert on the field, and additionally maybe someone viewing this video might be able to help. Thanks again for the video!

I just subbed to your channel. I'm wondering about screen visability and glare. I purchased a 1200p Levono tablet and it's not very bright in sunlight but the screen is beautiful and vivid. I'm going to try a matte screen protector to cut glare. I was in a Kia rental car and the HU in that had no glare and no visibility issues but the resolution was not good. I have a lot of windows in my truck (8 total) so I'm worried I won't be able to see the screen. On tablets the brightness is measured in nits and the average for tablets is around 450 nits and for phones like 1300-1500 nits. Have you used any of these in any cars and checked out visibility?

So, I have installed front and rear HD 1080/720 cameras, and I have also installed left and right side fender-mounted HD 1080/720 blind-spot monitoring cameras. Which head unit will allow me to monitor the left, right, and rear cameras when reversing, the front camera when moving forward, and the rear camera when driving on normal highways to monitor vehicles behind me? The reason for all of these visual driving aids is that I'm a disabled driver, and I need to keep an eye on all the vehicles around me peripherally to avoid collisions with any other vehicle. I need my visual cortex to assist me. My Audi A2 1.6 FSi (in mint condition) is an older model vehicle manufactured in 2026, but a classic nonetheless. Hi there. Great video comparing the top units. I have the Idoing in my wrx for over a year now, and it is great. Now I'm looking to get another one of these head units for my other subaru. I see they make one from Teyes for my car as well. Now I'm debating between Idoing and Teyes. I like the Idoing from the point that it sits flat as the oem but not a big fan on the display being vertical. On the other hand, the Teyes one sits horizontal, but it sticks out quite a bit from the face of the original head unit. Any preference on this? Also, Idoing has wireless android auto where Teyes does not. Thanks.

For me, vehicle integration is *THE* number one criteria, even above sound quality (assuming it's not crap of course). I need climate controls information more than anything because currently that info is displayed on the stock head unit: If it's removed I won't know what temperature I've set the climate to. This fact has made it very tricky to find a head unit that will fill that need (that, and also the fact that there doesn't seem to be a CANBUS decoder for my car - 2016 Kia Soul - which makes me believe that perhaps one isn't needed).

Another 75 enthusiast here, mine is a 99 pre project build V6 CON-SE. I have the same idea as yours and just bought an unbranded 9" IPS Android 8-core 3GB/32GB head unit from eBay which is customised for E46/ZT and CANBUS in built with LTE, wireless CarPlay/Andorid Auto, full spectrum DSP... and many other toys you name it all-in for £170. It sounded too good to be true then the nightmare had come immediately after getting it hooked up. FM radio crashed like hell, it refused to work after mins of use and to require a reboot bringing back for another mins of reception, it also refused to hibernate at most of the time so it always took around 25 secs to fire up when turning the ACC on. The unit is checked being a lower spec'd TFT-LCD instead of IPS, RAM is 1GB less not even mentioning whether or not the ROM is SD instead of SSD based... Wasted of my time and got it returned eventually, just avoided, Instead, I have just thrown my trust to an Xtrons, browsed being the cheapest in town tho still a bit overpriced in my opinion for a 9" IPS 2.5D curved digitaliser; 4-core 2GB/32GB almost identically spec'd to the one I returned but without LTE and wireless CarPlay for £190, I have also purchased a DAB+ dongle and an ADH reverse cam all for £220 slightly over my budget of £200. It would come next week, let you know how it works if you are interested. BTW, the steering wheel controls were working perfectly fine on those Chinese units just so you know.

The variants are sizes and memory. You make a good point on the difference of resolution, the camera does have a better image sensor than the screen can deal with :)

Many back up cameras, especially from just a few years ago provide more of a 480p resolution experience, so they are just emphasizing that the camera in this case is actually BETTER than the resolution of the head unit, and most other back up cameras.

Hi I'm very fun of your channel and I think your doing amazing job to inform people but my question is what would be a perfect a head unit for my Mistubish 2018 outlander and I don't care about the price just fastest, the good quality for watching a Netflix and KZitem and I'm using android phone and i do have a 4 cameras, sit hitting, steering wheel hitting, and cruise control, and voice commands on the wheel thanks.

I see units that claim to have RDS, including the one I'm about to return to Amazon. But photos in the adverts show frequencies displayed but no RDS. The one I have is the same and has to be manually re-tuned every few miles to the same station but on a different frequency. The instruction manual in my latest unit, a Joyx, is worthless. My son and I spent several hours yesterday getting most the features working as the aftersales from the supplier are dire. I think it may be about time to get one of your top three recommendations. Thanks for all your efforts.

Do you know if the newest Joying UI is part of the latest update? I have a 10.1 installed about 1 year ago. I am debating on the update because it factory resets the unit.

Hi this is in reference to a Joying single din head unit. How do you go about ordering the can-bus loom for the head unit as it doesn’t show on their website as an item that you can order? I’m trying to order a unit for my Abarth and think I will need one for the steering wheel controls but it’s not listed.

Yes they're the same brand. II am actually looking to get one of these to feature on the channel because they actually genuinely look like they could possibly knock Teyes off the top spot

Hi thanks for your great reviews, I followed your advice and bought a joying head unit for my 120 land cruiser. Unfortunately after 10 months it basically stopped connecting to android auto. Joying have dragged their heels for 6 mths and now say it is out of warranty. Have you heard of their customer service being this poor ? I am really disappointed. Have you any suggestions please. Thank you. David

Generally I've found their customer service pretty good, sorry to hear you're having issues with them. Android Auto is a bit annoying these days due to conflicts with recent updates pushed to phones. You could try completely disassociating the phone from the head unit and clearing all updates from Android Auto on the phone and reinstalling it

Okay so I am huge on electronics as well as vehicles, I would like to know if any of these head units are capable of allowing download for dash command. This is an app that you connect through Bluetooth to an OBD2 elm II reader. I am curious as to what you would recommend as the best head unit as I do not want to use my phone/tablet to show the readings of the app. Basically I am looking for a head unit functions dang near like an Android tablet

I have a 2002 Saab 9-3 Convertble and it's confusing about what size of a head unit will fit in my car. I've seen 7 inch and 6.2 inch, which is correct? I believe my OEM radio is a single DIN but not sure. I get different answers from different websites. Any advise would be greatly appreciated and thanks!

Some Android head units have appeared with Android version 12. I am wondering if you could show us what's has changed and improved compared to the previous version particularly compared to version 10 (because it is the version that is commonly available on the brands you reviewed in this video at the present time)? Would you recommend v. 12 over v. 10 or sticking with the current best brand names, hence v. 10? Thank you

All head units I have tested which have suggested they run Android 12 have actually been misrepresentating the actual version which is really based on Android 10
