Love how you did the ink swatches! I still have not purchased the Pilot E95S and debating whether to get it in a Fine or Medium nib! Great video!

What a refreshing selection. I own the first four and enjoy them all. Having said that I have no idea how I would select my top five pens or inks. For pens I often say my favorite one is the one I am using. I think I will play with the concept of choosing only five. Only two or three of 100 pens would be in the not buy again category. Really enjoy your videos.

Yay! A fellow fine nib bud! I've found that EF and F nibs are not only lovely, they marry well with shading inks, especially if said inks are "lighter" in color or less saturated. Most people stress that to see the beauty of your inks you want to go larger with your nibs, but that hasn't been my experience at all. I'm a lover of orange/ yellow inks and this nib size keeps it legible for these old eyes. I've found that they work best for me because I use a variety of papers, both really good and really basic. Not many that I follow in YT really bother with the F/ EF nibs, you're a unicorn!

Fellow fine nib friend! Thank you so much for the lovely comment and for sharing some of your knowledge. I will have to try pairing some of the lighter sailor manyo inks with finer nibs to see if they come out darker.

@@lianelikes I bought a used Elite (same as E95s) specifically as the cheapest way to get a nib, which is a special extra fine nib made only by Pilot. I like to use it to write as small as possible in book margins. I have zero doubt you will be pleased by an E95s . I find the black a little boring, possibly cause I have a bunch of other black pens.

Hello bravo for your work it is very instructive 👍 I am an artist I am currently looking for a fountain pen to draw with a fluid line, a good flow of ink, a good reserve of ink, and resistant. What would also be the right inks to accompany this product? thank you for your comeback

Hi Matt, thanks for your comment! I highly recommend Platinum Carbon black paired with a Twsbi eco. Waterproof ink that is highly saturated and works well with watercolor treatment over top. I’ve also heard Rohrer and Klingner sketch-up inks are waterproof and artist friendly.

Which fountain pen should I buy pilot metropolitan or Lamy safari ? Which fountain pen has a smoother medium nib ??
@lianelikes
Жыл бұрын
I think if you are wanting a smoother writing experience, then I would recommend the Pilot Metropolitan. I've found the Metropolitan to be more a consistent and reliable smooth writer. Aesthetically, the Lamy Safari looks "cooler" but I've found the nibs to have more feedback than the Metropolitans!
